Dance in praise.
“Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.”
Psalm 149:3
When we dance to the Lord, we are expressing our praise to Him. I never really knew that dancing was so important to God until I studied the life of David. David was someone God choose because of His praise.
In 2 Samuel 6:14(MSG) the Bible says, “David, ceremonially dressed in priest's linen, danced with great abandon before GOD.” See what the Bible says in 2 Samuel 6:16, 20-21(MSG), “But as the Chest of GOD came into the City of David, Michal, Saul's daughter, happened to be looking out a window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before GOD, her heart filled with scorn. David returned home to bless his family. Michal, Saul's daughter, came out to greet him: "How wonderfully the king has distinguished himself today--exposing himself to the eyes of the servants' maids like some burlesque street dancer!" David replied to Michal, "In GOD's presence I'll dance all I want! He chose me over your father and the rest of our family and made me prince over GOD's people, over Israel. Oh yes, I'll dance to GOD's glory--”
The next time you have an opportunity to dance in the presence of the Lord, do it with great abandon because you are expressing your praise to God.
Instruction.
Read Psalm 150 in praise to the Lord.
For further study, read:
Exodus 15:18-21, Psalm 30:11-12,
Jeremiah 31:13-14.
Doing the Word
Give the Lord a dance of praise all by yourself.
