MATTERS OF THE HEART FEBRUARY 2019 (EPISODE 1)

Meditate 5

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of
the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor
sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in
the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate
day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by
the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his
season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever
he doeth shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:1-3

If you want to bring forth fruit this year,
according to our opening scripture, you must
meditate on the Word of God.

The Word of God is a seed. When you hear the Word
of God as an individual, the seed of the Word is been
sown on the ground of your heart.

Mark 4:14-15 says, “The sower soweth the word.
And these are they by the way side, where the word
is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh
immediately, and taketh away the word that was
sown in their hearts.” This is the reason why you
can hear something from the Word of God today
and then not remember it afterwards.

Therefore, I encourage you to give thought and
study to the Word that God has spoken to us this
year so that it can bear fruit in your life. Get the
message for the year; listen to it again and again
until it renews your mind, write down the
prophecies and scriptural verses: read them and
declare them over your life everyday and meditate
upon them. That is how to cause the Word to take
root inside of you and bear fruit in your life this
year. If the Word does not take root in you, it will
not grow and bring forth fruit in your life.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You give unto me the
Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the
knowledge of You, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

A Letter to Pastors

Dear MOG,

Greetings of Grace, Mercy and Peace in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have been called to partner with God in the pursuit of His redemptive plan.

God’s work on earth requires the active frontline involvement of willing and dedicated servants. The work of the kingdom in the earth is a partnership. God is working in you, with you and through you. It’s a collaborative venture between God and His people.

I want to let you know that your labor and your efforts in the kingdom of God is not in vain. God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love. God sees. God knows. God cares. He will come through for you and your work.

Don’t quit putting in your best efforts because your work is not as big you expect it to be by now. Just keep doing your part consistently and trusting God to increase your work. Demand for wisdom to do the work better. See Ephesians 1:17; Philippians 1:9-11; James 1:5-8. Ask Him for more grace. With increased grace comes increased effectiveness.

Keep your eyes on the goals and the vision of the Lord in your heart. See Job 42:2; Hebrews 12:2. God will not allow His plans for you to fall to the ground. You are not alone. You are in partnership with God's Spirit in pursuit of destiny. See Mark 16:20; Isaiah 14:24-27 MSG.

Cheer up! It can only get better. God is on your side. The angels of the harvest are working with you. Speak words of faith. Declare what you expect. Be positive no matter what you see. God is faithful. He will enlarge the work. He will add to the church such as should be saved. He will open new doors of ministry and opportunities of increase and blessings. Amen and Amen.

May God give you favorable outcomes that facilitate the growth of the work under your authority. May God surround you with helpers that will multiply your impact in your sphere of influence. May He strengthen and empower you to go beyond all presupposed limits in Jesus Name, Amen. May this weekend be a weekend of consolation for all Ministers and Ministries. Amen.

For the King and His Kingdom,

DWF

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy
mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to do according to
all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make
thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success.”
Joshua 1:8.

If you want to have enduring success and
significance in life, then your success must be
built and founded on the Word of God. This was
why after God had shown Joshua the great
things He was going to do through him, He said to
him in our opening scripture, “This book of the law
shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest
observe to do according to all that is written
therein: for then thou shalt make thy way
prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success.”

God's Word spoken to Joshua reveals that it is his
responsibility to see that the Word of God comes to
pass in his life. Therefore, if you fail in life it is your
fault. Also, if you succeed in life, it is your fault. So
where you are right now is where you want to be
whether you like it or not.

Proverbs 23:7a says, “For as he thinketh in his
heart, so is he …” This reveals that thoughts decide
realities. Thoughts also decide outcomes. Hence,
where you are right now is a reflection of your way
of thinking. No matter what God wants you to be,
do or have if you do not condition yourself to think
in line with it, it may never come to pass. Therefore
in line with what you have learnt today, I
encourage you to see yourself as God sees you. See
yourself doing what God has shown you and see
yourself having what God says you have.

Confession.

S.M.A.R.T

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth
not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he
have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath
laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all
that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man
began to build, and was not able to finish.”
Luke 14:28-30.

In goal setting, there is something you must pay
attention to, it is called the S.M.A.R.T principle
for goal setting.

S stands for specific. In goal setting, you must be
Specific. Clearly write down what you want to be,
do or have.

M stands for measurable. Your goals must be
Measurable. What are you going to do every day
towards achieving your goal? For instance, if one of
your goals is to read the whole Bible this year, how
many chapters are you going to read daily in order
to achieve that goal? That makes the goal
measurable.

A stands for achievable. Goals should be
Achievable. Make sure the goals you are writing
down are something you should be able to achieve
within the speculated time.

R stands for realistic. Goals must be Realistic or
Relevant.

T stands for time-bound. Your goals should be
Time-bound. Set a deadline. In other words, set a
date you intend to see your goals accomplished.

Finally, I encourage you to follow these principles
pragmatically and you will be more result oriented.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You fill me with the
knowledge of Your will to always do the right
thing at the right time always, in Jesus' Name.
Amen.

A Call to Prayer and Fasting:

Dearly Beloved,

Greetings of Grace, Mercy and Peace from God the heart of the Father and from Jesus Christ our Lord through whom we have gained access to the fullness of God and obtained the right and the legal capacity to participate in the divine nature. Hallelujah!!! See 2 Peter 1:3-4; John 5:24; John 17:3; 1 John 5:10-13; 1 John 5:20; 1 Corinthians 1:3.

Welcome to the Year of Harvest. We are at the brink of a spiritual revival in our generation. There has never been a time when people embrace the call to begin the year with prayer and fasting like it has been happening in the past few years all over the world. With every passing year, it keeps gaining momentum.

Fasting is simply voluntary abstinence from food for spiritual purposes. Fasting is an intentional positioning of your heart for breakthrough and spiritual growth by abstaining from foods and physical pleasures. See Job 23:12; Matthew 4:4; Luke 4:4.

Furthermore, Fasting is a voluntary abstinence from physical foods and drinks in order to feed on spiritual food (the Word) and spiritual drink (infillings and refillings of the Holy Spirit). See Acts 13:2-4; Acts 10:30-44. We can also say Fasting is denying your physical appetites so that you can feed your spiritual appetites. See Matthew 6:16-18; Philippians 3:17-19; Romans 16:18; Jude 1:13-14; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

Job 23:12 NKJV
I have not departed from the commandment of His lips;
I have treasured the words of His mouth
More than my necessary food.

Job 23:12 NLT
I have not departed from his commands,
but have treasured his words more than daily food.

During times of fasting we should take out time to feed on the Word of God so our spirit man can become very strong and gain dominance over our senses and our appetites.

Sin is a spiritual condition manifested in conduct. See Romans 8:1-8. Those who are struggling with sin are simply weak spiritually. See 1 Corinthians 3:1-3; Proverbs 20:11. Your character is the outward reflection of your spiritual condition. That’s why the Character traits listed in Galatians 5:22-23 are called “the fruit of the spirit” while the sins listed in Galatians 5:19-21 are called “the works of the flesh.” The way you behave is a reflection what dominates you: your spirit or your body (the flesh).

1The Bible says, “By their fruits you shall know them.” This means your character reveals who you really are. It tells whether you are babe (1 Peter 2:1-3), a Child (1 Corinthians 3:1-3; Galatians 4:1-2; Ephesians 4:14; Hebrews 5:13), a young man (1 John 2:13-14) or a father (1 John 2:13-14).

John the Apostle says young men have overcome the wicked one. Demonic or spiritual oppression is proof positive that an individual is a spiritual infant. See 1 John 2:13. As you grow spiritually, you should be gaining dominion and influence spiritually, you should be breaking free from all forms of oppression. See Isaiah 10:27 NIV. Oppression is an indicator that you are a child spiritually. See Galatians 4:3.

Secondly, the Apostle John also indicated that young men are strong because the Word of God abides in them. See 1 John 2:14. Your spiritual strength is equivalent to the measure of the Word you contain in your spirit. See Proverbs 24:5,10; Daniel 11:32. When you increase your spiritual knowledge, you increase your strength.

This is a time to invest in your own spiritual development as we set aside time to fast and pray. Make room to hear the Word like never before. Play messages in your car. Saturate your spirit with the Word this year.

Never forget that God will only entrust to you what you have the capacity to endure or carry. God wants to do BIG THINGS through your life this year; make room for more by preparing prayerfully and powerfully by spending quality time in the Word. Shalom

Have a fruitful and fulfilling week
characterized by encounters of favor and opportunities of increase. May you encounter revelations and insights that will transform your life, refine your character and catapult you to new realms of uncommon accomplishments. Amen

David Wale Feso

Set Goals

“Wisdom is the main pursuit of sensible men, but a
fool's goals are at the ends of the earth!”
Proverbs 17:24 (TLB)

If you are going to have a profitable year, then
you must learn to set clear goals. Successful
people are goal setters. What is a goal? A goal is Ia dream with a deadline. It is a written description
of what you want to achieve within a specific
timeframe. This means that for each month, it is
appropriate for you to have a specific goal.
Therefore, what is your goal going to be for this
month, February, March, April and the rest of the
months? I encourage you to sit down and set
specific goals with deadlines and you will be more
focused.

The Bible shows us that God is a goal setter. He
showed this to us in creation; He created the
heavens and the earth in six days having a definite
goal for each day. Are you that way? On the first day
of creation, all He created was light. He divided the
light from the darkness and called the light day and
the darkness He called night. That was His goal for
the first day and that goal was accomplished. (See
Genesis 1:1-5)

Goals are milestones in the journey of success. You
may have a big vision for this year, but to achieve it,
I encourage you to break it into bits and tasks called
goals and spread them out through the year. For
instance, what do you want to be, do or have in
January? Write them down and that will become
your milestone or goal for this month. Do the same
for February and each month of the year and before
you know it, you have completely achieved that big
vision you have for the year 2020. Doing this makes
you accountable and gives you a sense of
responsibility.

Instruction.
Please read Psalm 106:4 and Isaiah 60:10 and ask
God to remember you this year and give you that
which your heart fondly wishes for, including
the fulfilment of all your goals.

For further study, read:
Proverbs 3:21-26 (TLB), 1 Corinthians 9:26 (TLB),

What Is A Vision? 2

“Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we
are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates
thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build
up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a
reproach.”
Nehemiah 2:17.

A vision is a revelation of a preferable
future. This means that your vision should
be able to show you and others a better
future. That was what Nehemiah was showing the
men he was speaking to in our opening scripture.
At that time, the walls of Jerusalem was burnt down
with fire yet as he spoke to them, he made them see
that they could build up the walls of Jerusalem so
that they will no longer be a reproach. (That is a
preferred future)

Also, vision imposes responsibility. You will notice
that when Nehemiah showed them the vision in
our opening scripture, it inspired commitment and
efforts from the people. They committed
themselves to work because they were able to see a
preferred future. Every God-given vision imposes
responsibility. What responsibility does your
vision impose on you? I encourage you to write it
down and work at it. For them, they had to build up
the wall. What is yours?

Nehemiah also showed them the hand of God or
divine partnership in bringing the vision to pass.
“Then I told them of the hand of my God which was
good upon me; as also the king's words that he had
spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and
build. So they strengthened their hands for this
good work.” Nehemiah 2:18. When people are
assured of divine partnership, it will inspire
commitment and efforts.

Instruction.
Please read Acts 14:26 and Acts 15:40 and
commend yourself to the grace of God
concerning the work, job or assignment God has
placed in your heart for this year.

For further study, read:
Genesis 11:1-6, Ezra 6:22, Haggai 1:13-14.

What Is A Vision? 1

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he
that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
Proverbs 29:18.

Today, I will be teaching you about vision.
What is a vision? A vision is the mental image of
a preferable future. In other words,
what do you see yourself becoming this year? It is
important you clearly write this out because it will
help you develop a clear strategy for making the
most out of the year. Without a clear strategy, the
year will not amount to much for you because there
are no definite targets you are reaching for.

According to our opening scripture, without a
vision, the people perish; this means that they run
wild. A vision helps to give you focus.

A vision is an unfolding of a divine plan. God is a
planner; He has a plan for your year, your month,
your week and even your day. This is why you need
to know God's plan for the year so that you can
partner with Him. God does not want you to do
your own thing. I learnt from a man of God that
man's plan has no guarantee of success, but God's
plans has no possibility of failure. So it is important
you find God's plan because God's plan is already
blessed.

Nehemiah said in Nehemiah 2:12, “And I arose in
the night, I and some few men with me; neither told
I any man what my God had put in my heart to do
at Jerusalem: …” In this context, we can say a vision
is what God has put in your heart to do. So, what has
God put in your heart to do? Start doing it and God
will back you up.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You fill me with an
understanding of the times so I can always do
the right thing at the right time, in Jesus' Name.
Amen.

Focus

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest
prosper and be in health, even as thy soul
prospereth.”
3 John 1:2.

As you begin this New Year, it is important
for you to begin with the right mindset.
This is why you must know that God wants
you to succeed. The word 'prosper' as used in the
scripture above also means to succeed. Say out
loud: God wants me to succeed!

The New Living Translation puts 3 John 1:2 this
way, “Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and
that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in
spirit.” This reveals that God is concerned about
every part of your life, therefore the principles you
are going to be learning this month is going to help
you in every area of your life.

What is a principle? A principle is a fundamental
truth. It is a universal law. A principle is a broad and
basic truth, in other words, it is a truth that will
work for anybody.

Number one of these principles if you are going to
have a profitable year is this; 'You must have a
concise vision.' This is the first principle you need to
apply. The man that has no vision has no definite
destination. Hence, as you begin this year, it is
important for you to have a theme for the year. Your
theme for the year is your focus for the year. This is
important because you cannot succeed without
focus, and vision gives you focus.

Today I encourage you to write down your theme or
focus for the year. That is one of the first important
things you need to determine as you begin this year.
As you write down your focus, commit it to the
Lord, set your heart to it, work at it and it shall come
to pass.

Prayer.
Dear Father, teach me to number my days so
that I may apply my heart unto wisdom, in
Jesus' Name. Amen.

For further study, read:

Expect Progress

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that
shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
Proverbs 4:18.

Happy New Year! In this month's
devetional, we are going to be studying
some 'practical Principles For A Profitable
Year.' Before we go into that fully, it is important for
you to have the right mindset as you begin this year.
Expect to make progress more than ever before this
year because that is God's will for you.

When you study our opening scripture, you will
notice that God wants you to experience progress.

In John 10:10b, Jesus said, “… I am come that they
might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly.” Expect abundant progress because
that is what God wants you to have.

Romans 1:17 says, “For therein is the righteousness
of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written,
The just shall live by faith.” Expect to go from faith
to faith because you are going to be exceeding all
presupposed limits.

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face
beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are
changed into the same image from glory to glory,
even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Expect to go from
glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord throughout
this year.

Confession.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that this is my
year of Harvest. In this year I will make
phenomenal progress in every area of my life. I
declare that in this year my path is the path of
the righteous and it shines more and more unto
the perfect day. I am moving from faith to faith
and from glory to glory, in the Name of Jesus.
Amen.

For further study, read:
Genesis 26:12-14, Psalm 67:5-7, Amos 9:13 (MSG),
