Love walks in the light

“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:” Ephesians 5:8(KJV)

Our opening scripture today is an instruction. The Lord is telling you, “…walk as children of light:” Do you know that the love of God that we are learning about does not walk in darkness? When we say darkness here, we mean sin and other negative vices. Love walks in the light, it is lust that walks in the dark.

For example, as a child of God, weather you are a teenager, or an unmarried adult, do not get into a secret relationship with anyone from the opposite sex. This is because lust thrives in secrecy, because it is in the dark, but love thrives in the light.

Therefore, I want to encourage you to express your love in the light as a child of God. So, before you commit yourself in any relationship, let your Pastor or those in authority over you know. This will help you to receive the right counsel, and protect your heart and your relationship from lust and other vices. Been accountable to spiritual authority will expose lust and protect love.

Do not get into any ungodly relationship with anyone, because the Bible says in Ephesians 5:11-15(ESV), “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,”

Dear Father, I thank you for you are at work in me, both to will and to do of your good pleasure in Jesus Name. Amen.
