Love Standard

“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” Romans 12:2(AMP)

As a child of God, you must not love like the world. The Bible tells us in our opening scripture, not to conformed to this world. In other words, we must not imitate the world in the way that they love, or express their love. Do not follow the wrong crowd or accept their ideals on what is love, and how to love.

Fill your mind and meditate on what the Bible teaches about love. The ideals of the Bible, and the life of Jesus revealed in the Bible should be your model for love, and loving others. Anything outside of that will lead you out of the will of God, and your life will not be pleasing to God that way.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8(ESV), “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends…”

In John 13:34, Jesus said, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” Therefore, let the Bible and Jesus be your standard for love and loving others.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for I am strengthened with might according to the riches of your glory by your Spirit in my inward man against all negative influences and hate in the world. I live free from selfishness and bitterness in Jesus Name. Amen.
