A fruit of the spirit.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, …”
Galatians 5:22(KJV)

From our opening scripture today, we learn that love is a fruit of the spirit. This means that as a child of God, it is important you know that you have received the capacity to love, because love has been ingrafted in your spirit as a child of God.

The Bible says in Romans 5:5 that, “… the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” So, as a child of God, you shouldn't make statements like, “I can't just love anybody.” Or “I find it very difficult to forgive others.” If you are that way, it means you have not come to understand that agape is in your nature; the God-kind of love has been poured into your heart, such that your heart is flooded with love.

Love from your spirit, because that is where the love of God is. Don't love from your head or your emotions. Emotional love can be corrupted by worldly passions and the wrong desires, that is why you must constantly learn to renew your mind by the Word of God, so that you can be able to discern the good, acceptable and perfect will of God for you.

Galatians 5:13-16(GNB) says, “As for you, my friends, you were called to be free. But do not let this freedom become an excuse for letting your physical desires control you. Instead, let love make you serve one another. For the whole Law is summed up in one commandment: "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." But if you act like wild animals, hurting and harming each other, then watch out, or you will completely destroy one another. What I say is this: let the Spirit direct your lives, and you will not satisfy the desires of the human nature.”

CONFESSION
I declare that God's grace and spiritual blessing is heavy upon my life, God's favour is working for me, and the love of God establishes my heart to express the perfections of the divine nature in Jesus Name, Amen.
