The haven of love.
“And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, …”
Genesis 22:2
In order for you to properly understand the concept of love, I want us to examine the meaning of love, beginning from the first time the word was used in the Bible. Love was used for the first time in the Bible in our opening scripture. The word love in our opening scripture is from the Hebrew word 'ahab' which refers to 'affection.'
Staying in context with our opening scripture, it become obvious to us that the first place for you to receive love should be from home. Therefore, if anyone is going to grow up to have a healthy relationship with others, it is going to begin from the home where he or she was raised.
This is why I counsel young people to pay attention to the home the person they intend to marry is coming from. This does not mean that they should not marry the person, but they must realize that there are certain issues the person may need to overcome depending on the challenges that were peculiar and prevalent in such homes.
Therefore, I encourage every parent reading this today, especially young couples, to ensure that their home becomes a haven of love for every child - who is actually a gift from God to them. Remember that you owe every one of your children that affection so that they can develop a balanced self-esteem as they grow into adulthood. Open preferential treatment of one child over the other children can destroy the self-esteem of the other children and bring bitterness and jealousy into your home.
Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that you fill me with the fullest measure of your divine presence and cause me to encounter the experiential knowledge of your love that surpasses mere human knowledge, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Genesis 37:3-4, 23-28.
Doing the Word
If you are a parent, give to every one of your children unconditional love.
