Pray to a loving Father
“At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.” John 16:26-27
The reason why many Christians find it difficult to receive from God is that they have not yet understood the Father's love. God loves you and He is always willing to give to you. James 1:5(AMP) says, “If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.” God is the giving God, and He gives liberally without faultfinding. Knowing this will give you confidence to ask whatsoever you desire from Him.
God is your Father and He wants you to relate with Him with that understanding. Jesus said in John 16:23, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” Jesus puts prayer on a positive note, letting us know that when we ask from the Father we should expect an answer.
Do not see prayer as talking to a hard task-master; see prayer as talking to your Father. Matthew 7:7-8 say, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
