Tell the truth

Wednesday, April 13th
Tell the truth.

“The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.”
Proverbs 12:19

Lying can destroy any relationship and there is no relationship that can be healthy if it is built on a lie. Lying, by any of the parties in a relationship, will destroy trust. When trust is destroyed, the foundation on which to build a lasting relationship has been destroyed. Any relationship that will be established must be built on truth and honesty.

Do not lie to any one, most especially to the one you love. We do not lie to the one we love. You can only lie to the one you are lusting after because deceitfulness is the character of sin. If you are lying to the man or the woman you intend to get married to, it is proof you do not truly love that person sincerely. It means you are pretending and trying to impress them. You are not going to have a healthy marriage that way.

You cannot build anything to last on a lie. It is what is built on truth that will be established forever. Therefore if you want your marriage to be established forever, then do not build your relationship on a lie.

Speak the truth in love. If you are in a relationship with someone you intend to get married to and the person asks about how morally you lived in the past, do not lie about it. Do not say you are a virgin when you are not. If you have a child, let the person  know. Speaking the truth will establish your relationship.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I commit to truth and speaking the truth in all my dealings with all men. May my life, marriage, business, ministry, and all that I build on your truth be established forever, moving from glory to glory in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
