Power in the Name

“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”
Psalm 138:2(KJV)

I remember a story by Smith Wigglesworth of a man that was paralyzed for a long time. Then the Lord spoke to him one day to go and raise Lazarus from the dead, and he immediately understood what the Lord meant.

So he went to the house of this paralyzed man with a couple of brothers with him. As they stood around his bed, they began to whisper the Name 'Jesus'. As they went on calling that Name ‘Jesus’ over and over again, the power of God fell mightily in that place and the paralytic man walked. What made it happen? Their faith in the power in the Name of Jesus.

Therefore, if we make our worship about Him, and boast about His Name, His greatness and power, He will manifest Himself and begin to confirm His Word in our daily lives with signs following. The Bible says in Philippians 2:9-11, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Therefore, it is so important you learn and understand these principles from God's Word, and how to use them to get supernatural results in your life and to change  difficult or hopeless situations through worship. So begin to practice what you have learnt in this month’s devotional and let the glory of the Lord be revealed in your life.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for the teachings you've brought to me this month concerning worship, I ask that as I consecrate my life to worship and glorify your Name in all that I think, say and do, I ask that you confirm your Word always in my life with signs following in Jesus Name. Amen.

Worship the Name

“All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.”
Psalm 86:9(KJV)

Whenever we sing about the Name, we release the anointing. In Songs of Solomon 1:3, the Bible says, “… thy name is as ointment poured forth,…” so every time we sing about the Name of Jesus we release the anointing. And I have observed that healing ministers always sing songs about Jesus in their healing meetings and crusades.

I remember when the Lord was teaching me about healing in 2002, He said, “when you organise healing meetings, sing about my Name and my anointing will be released. Then the sick will be healed, and when they are healed, sing about the Lamb.” The Lord taught me that when I sing about the Lamb, I remind Him about His sacrifice, because that healing was what He sacrificed for.

Psalm 86:10-12 says, “For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.”

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the power in the Name of Jesus. I ask that as I worship that Name today, let miracles happen, let burdens be removed and yokes destroyed by the anointing in Jesus Name. Amen.

Worship with reverence

“So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.”
 Psalm 45:11(KJV)

Worship makes you attractive to God. The place of worship is a place of consecration and submission to the Lordship of Jesus. So those who have not truly experienced God, do not truly worship. They may sing with their lips but they don't know what true worship is.

In Psalm 95:7 the Bible says, “But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.” This reveals to us that when you worship, let your worship be offered to God in reverence. This is why when Jesus appeared to Kenneth E. Hagin, he told him that “reverence has to be restored to the church and His people have to learn to worship.”

In Psalm 66:4-5 the Bible says, “All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.”

INSTRUCTION
Sing songs in worship that lifts up the Name of Jesus.

Positioned for Worship

“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said …”
Acts 13:2(KJV)

Worship is the recognition of the Lordship of Jesus. The Bible shows us in our opening scripture, that as “… they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said…” This means that worship enhances your ability to hear God.

Worship positions you to hear God. So, if you want to hear God, it is important that when you worship, let your heart be in it and God will speak to you. The Bible says in Psalm 95:6-7, “O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice”

When you worship, let your focus be on Jesus and not on yourself, your circumstances or your needs. When you sing songs of worship to the Lord, let your songs be about Him and His greatness. Let your songs extol His Name and His glory. Sing songs of worship for who He is; He is God, He is worthy, He is faithful, He is holy, He is awesome, He is mighty, He is the Most High God, etc. Worship His majesty. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. The One who was, the One who is and the One who is to come.

Therefore, when you begin to worship the Lord in this way, you have rightly positioned yourself to honour Him and to hear His voice.

INSTRUCTION
Please sing songs of worship and adoration to the Lord today.

Keep the Word in your mouth

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Joshua 1:8(KJV)

In our opening scripture today, God told Joshua “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth…” in other words, God was telling him to read the Word to himself. God wanted Joshua to keep the Word of God in His mouth. Why is this important? The Bible says in the second part of that verse “… for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Also, in Deuteronomy 11:19(MSG) God instructed the children of Israel to talk about the Word of God twenty-four hours a day and also to teach it to their children saying, “Teach them to your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night.” In Deuteronomy 11:21(MSG), we see the benefit of speaking the Word always, the Bible says,  “… you'll live a long time, and your children with you, on the soil that GOD promised to give your ancestors for as long as there is a sky over the Earth.”

In Isaiah 59:21(MSG) the Bible says, “"As for me," GOD says, "this is my covenant with them: My Spirit that I've placed upon you and the words that I've given you to speak, they're not going to leave your mouths nor the mouths of your children nor the mouths of your grandchildren. You will keep repeating these words and won't ever stop." GOD's orders.”

Therefore, don't get tired of speaking the Word of God to yourself, about your family and all that has to do with you. Praise God.

CONFESSION
I believe and therefore have I spoken: Jesus is Lord of my life. I dwell in God and He dwells in me. Greater is He that's in me than He that's in the world. I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water, I bring forth my fruits in season and whatsoever I do shall prosper. With long life has He satisfied me and showed me His salvation in Jesus Name.

The real Jew

“After all, who is a real Jew, truly circumcised? It is not the man who is a Jew on the outside, whose circumcision is a physical thing.”
Romans 2:28(GNB)

Our opening scripture is letting us know who the real Jew is in the New Testament. A Jew in this case refers to the chosen people of God. The real Jew in the New Testament is no longer the man who has merely been circumcised in the flesh, his circumcision is only a physical thing. True circumcision is in the spirit. So who is the real Jew?

Romans 2:29(GNB) lets us know who the real Jew is; “Rather, the real Jew is the person who is a Jew on the inside, that is, whose heart has been circumcised, and this is the work of God's Spirit, not of the written Law. Such a person receives praise from God, not from human beings.” The real Jew is the man whose heart(spirit) has been circumcised.

The unbeliever's heart has not been circumcised, making his heart unresponsive to God, but now that you are born again, your heart or spirit is circumcised by God's Spirit and made alive to God so that you may be able to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God.

That is why the Bible calls the born again Christian in 1 Peter 2:9, “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” Therefore the born again Christian is like the real Jew in God’s sight. See Exodus 12:48, Galatians 6:15-16.

CONFESSION
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I am a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, I am God's own purchased special person, that I may set forth the wonderful deeds, and display the virtues and perfections of Him who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light.

A God-carrier

“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”
1 Corinthians 1:17(KJV)

Do you know that now as a born again child of God, you are the carrier of God's divine presence. We no longer need to carry around with us the physical representation of the ark in the Old Testament as they did everywhere with us today.

In the Old Testament the ten commandments which was the law of God was kept in the ark. Today in the New Testament, the law of God which is the Word of God is kept in our hearts. The Bible says in Hebrews 8:10, “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:”

The ark also symbolized the presence of God with them. Today in the New Testament, the Bible calls us the temple of the living God according to 2 Corinthians 6:16, “…for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Therefore, I encourage you to walk with this consciousness everyday of your life because you are the temple of the living God and a carrier of God's presence everywhere you go. This is indeed a great privilege we have in the New Testament.

CONFESSION
In the Name of Jesus I declare that I am holy and sanctified unto God because I am the temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in me. I have been joined to the Lord, therefore I am one Spirit with Him. God dwells in me and He is glorified in my body and in my spirit. Amen.

Do the word

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
John 14:21(KJV)

Every instruction in the Word of God is a command. A command is a non negotiable obligation. Therefore, when ever you are studying the Word of God and you come across  any instruction from God, know that you are under obligation to do it.

Why is this important? Jesus said in our opening scripture that he that keeps the commandments(Word), will be loved of the Father and He will manifest Himself to that one, in other words, He will have revelations and experience divine manifestations in his life.

That is why I have revelations, because whatever I find written in the Word of God, I do it. This is because I have learnt that as I keep on doing the Word of God, I will be getting privileged revelations from God's Word. As a result God has given me a mouth and a wisdom which no adversary can gain say or resist. Why? It is because of the fact that anything I see in the Word I do it.

Therefore I encourage you today to make doing the Word of God your obsession because as you do, Jesus will begin to manifest himself to you and give you privileged  revelations from the Word of God.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you because your Word is producing in my life what it talks about and the blessing of the doer of the Word is evident in my life even as I do the Word always in Jesus Name. Amen.

MORE THAN RELIGION

“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
1 Timothy 2:8(KJV)

Religion is the worship of God based on human assumptions. Religion is also the worship of God based on human tradition. For instance, there many things Christians practice without knowing why they should do it. Lets take the lifting up of our hands in worship before God as an example. Do you know that it is scriptural practice for you to lift up your hands when you worship or pray to God?

The Bible shows this to us in Psalm 141:2, “Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.” This reveals to you the importance of the lifting up of your hands in prayer or worship to God. This is because every time you lift up your hands in worship or prayer to God, He receives it just like the evening sacrifice offered in the Old Testament at 3pm in the afternoon.

When you study the Bible, you will discover that the time of the evening sacrifice in the Bible is a time where high angelic activity is experienced. In Daniel 9:21, you will discover that the angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel at the time of the evening sacrifice. Also in the New Testament, you will discover the angel appeared to Cornelius in Acts 10:3 at the time of the evening sacrifice.

Therefore, when I lift up my hands to God in worship or prayer I am offering up to Him my evening sacrifice and at the same time, angelic activities is activated on my behalf which leads to the speedy answer to my prayers.

Therefore, the next time you pray or worship the Father lifting up your hands you now know what it stands for and what it means. The lifting up of your hands is no longer a tradition, but it becomes something you do by revelation. That is true worship.

PRAYER
Dear Father, may the lifting up of my hands be as an evening sacrifice, and may the calves and fruits of my lips be acceptable to you sanctified of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name. Amen.

Don't Worship based on man's tradition

“…Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?”
Matthew 15:3(KJV)

In my study of worship, I discovered that you do not come to a king on your own terms, you come to a king on his own terms. Jesus asked the Jews in our opening scripture, “…Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?”

What is a commandment? A commandment is a non negotiable obligation. So we can deduce from the question that Jesus asked the Jews that they trivialized the Word of God to obey their tradition.

For instance, when the Lord spoke to me to start taking communion every Sunday in church.  I said to Him, “Lord I don't see any church taking communion every Sunday apart from the Catholic Church.” And I said, “okay I will obey for one month.” So, after we took communion consistently every Sunday for one month, the next month I asked the Lord to show me from the Bible why we should be taking communion everyday, and I also did a study of church history to see if they took communion every Sunday. Why did I require all these confirmations? It was because the tradition in the church I grew up in at that time; communion was taken  once a year.

Then the Lord showed me from the Bible why we should take communion every Sunday from Acts 2:42-47, Acts 20:7, and Luke 24:30 where Jesus took communion with some disciples on Sunday. When I discovered these things from the Bible and from Church history where I discovered they received communion every Sunday, I was convinced that every Sunday we should be taking communion. That has been our practice till this day.

PRAYER
Dear Father I ask that you expose every seed of falsehood that has entered into my belief system that is contrary to the Bible way to worship you in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
1 Corinthians 11:23-26,  Luke 22:19-20.

DOING THE WORD
Take communion often.

Don't go your own way

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry...”              1 Samuel 15:23(KJV)

I will like you to notice in our opening scripture today that stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. This means that the Bible sees stubbornness like serving idols, because stubbornness is self worship because you are choosing to do your own thing above all else.

When you choose to do your own thing above what God has said, and above divine instruction, or constituted authority it means you are worshiping yourself. Every time you insist to go your own way and to do your own thing, you are worshiping yourself, in other words you have made yourself a god to yourself, and remember God said in Exodus 20:3, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

This is why you should not become rebellious or stubborn against God because if you are, it means that you have put yourself before God and when that happens it can only lead to a fall. That was why Saul fell, he fell because he was rebellious and stubborn to the Word of God and divine instruction, therefore God rejected him from been king. (See 1 Samuel 15:23-28)

Stubbornness is an expression of pride, and the Bible says in Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” 1 Peter 5:5 says, “…God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”

PRAYER
Dear Father I humble myself to be tutored by your Word. I receive grace to will and to do of your good pleasure always in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Jeremiah 7:21-23, Micah 6:7-8, 1 Peter 5:6, James 4:6-7.

DOING THE WORD
Obey divine instructions always.

Upgrade your marriage

“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”
1 Peter 3:7(KJV)

According to our opening scripture, if you investigate, you will notice that the Pastor of every church that is growing well in this world has a healthy relationship with his wife. This is because if you don't give honour to your wife, the Bible says your prayers will be hindered, and if your prayers are hindered, your progress will be stunted.

If you are reading this devotional today and you are nursing an offence in your heart against your wife or your husband as a child of God, I encourage you to be a doer of the Word of God and reconcile, because not doing the Word of God is rebellion.

The Bible says in 1 Samuel 15:23, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…” What is rebellion? Rebellion is the conscious or unconscious rejection of divine instruction.  Therefore, if you know that you have been rebelling against the Word of God in this area, I encourage you to repent and accept God’s counsel for the upgrade of your life.

INSTRUCTION
Please make intercession for marriages that are having challenges today.

For further study read:
1 Peter 3:1-7, Ephesians 5:22-25,33, Colossians 3:18, Titus 2:3-6, James 3:16.

DOING THE WORD
If there is strife in your marriage, please make the first move for peace whether or not you are the one at fault.

Hold no offence 2

“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: ”
1 Peter 3:7-8(KJV)

Today I will like to ask you some questions; How is your relationship with your spouse? How is your relationship with your parents? How is your relationship with your brothers and sisters? Keeping and holding offence in your heart will hinder your effectiveness and productivity as a child of God.

Therefore choose to forgive and let go of all offences even as God for Christ sake forgave you. By so doing, you will be able to offer true worship to God from your heart because you are been obedient to His Word. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 15:22, “… Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

Imagine such a senario where a man and his wife has just finished fighting and then he goes into a service and sows a seed without first reconciling with his wife, he has just lost that seed he sowed. This is because how can he claim to love God who He has not seen and he refuses to forgive and love his wife who he sees everyday. The Bible says in 1 John 4:20 “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you because my love is abounding more and more in knowledge and in all judgement because the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit towards my brethren and towards all men in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Matthew 18:34-35, Colossians 3:12-14, Ephesians 4:32, 1 John 3:14-16,
Luke 11:4, Luke 17:3-4, Luke 23:34, James 2:13

DOING THE WORD
Don't let the sun go down on your wrath. Forgive.

Hold no offence 1

“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”
Matthew 5:23-24(KJV)

In our opening scripture, Jesus shows us a very simple principle that will help us receive a harvest to our seed every time we sow. Jesus said that if you are going to sow a seed, and you remember that you are holding an offence against your brother, leave your seed there and go and reconcile with your brother, then come and sow your seed.

Yet, as simple as this instruction is from Jesus, some Christians would rather prefer to sow their seed with offence in their hearts at the same time. Yet they complain they did not receive any harvest after they gave. The reason why there is no harvest is because your heart is not a good ground because of the bitterness and the resentment you are holding against others.

This is the reason why some seeds does not produce any  harvest because they are sown with bitterness and resentment.

This is why I do not keep any offence in my heart, because I know that if I want my seed to work, and I want my praise and worship to work, and I want my prayers to work, I must not hold strife against my wife. Therefore, my worship to God in church will not count if my life is not in conformity to the Word of God.

PRAYER
Dear Father in obedience to your Word today, I let go of all offence, strife and resentment in my heart against all who have wronged me in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Mark 12:33, James 3:13-18, James 5:16, 1 Peter 3:7-9.

DOING THE WORD
Be willing to forgive.

Your revelation determines your limits.

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Luke 19:10(KJV)

When you know what Jesus has done for you, and when you understand the cross, serving Christ becomes easy. I heard about the Moravians who were praying passionately for the world to be saved. Then they began going for evangelism. They went out to reach out to others based on the revelation that Jesus died for all men, and to win souls was to bring to Jesus the rewards of His sufferings. Their revelation was what motivated them to reach out to the unsaved with the gospel.

Therefore, it reveals to us that your behaviour is a reflection of your revelation. This is because every man is limited by what he knows.

For instance, I know that my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus according to Philippians 4:19. Therefore by this knowledge, I know that whenever I do God's will, God will pay the bills. This is why I encourage you today to get revelations from the scriptures because when you do, your behaviour will change and your struggles will be no more. You will be empowered to live the limitless life according to your revelation.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you because every form of limitation is removed from my belief system because you have filled me with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Colossians 1:9-11, Ephesians 1:15-20, Ephesians 3:14-19, Philippians 1:9-11.

DOING THE WORD
Consciously live your life based on the revelation of God's Word you know.

You don't own yourself.

“You know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God, don't you? You do not belong to yourselves,”
1 Corinthians 6:19(ISV)

Do you know that from the day you got born again, you cease being yours? Since you do not own yourself anymore, you've lost the right to live the way you want to live. You can no longer live carelessly as a child of God anymore because you are not your own.

I Corinthians 6:20 says, “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” This shows you that your body belongs to God. If your body belongs to God, it means that your feet, your hands, your eyes, your mouth, and every other part of your body belongs to God and should only be used for His glory.

When you have this understanding, you will better understand why stealing with your hands is an offence. This is because you are using His hands to do what He does not want it to do. You would also understand why watching the wrong kind of movies is also an offence because your eyes are not yours they belong to God. I encourage you to live with this understanding and glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's. See 1 Corinthians 6:15-18

CONFESSION
I choose to be conscious of the Holy Spirit, and I surrender my whole being to Him to be a living sacrifice pure and holy as my reasonable service. My spirit, my soul and my body belongs to God in Jesus Name.

For further study read:
1 Peter 1:16-19, Revelations 5:9,
1 Corinthians 10:31, Romans 6:17-19.

DOING THE WORD
Only practice what Jesus would do with your body it belongs to God not to you.

You are a living temple 2.

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
1 Corinthians 6:19(KJV)

Today I will like you to make this declaration, say; “My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.” If your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit it means that everywhere you go, the Holy Spirit is there. Make no mistakes about this truth; there is only one Holy Spirit.

There are some Christians who think that they have the little Holy Spirit in them and maybe their Pastor have more Holy Spirit in him. No, that is not true because there is only one Holy Spirit. Though the Holy Spirit may express Himself through one person than the other, but the truth remains that there is only one Holy Spirit. See 2 Corinthians 12:18, Ephesians 4:4.

Please make this confession, say; “The Holy Spirit is always living in me, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, I carry the presence of God inside of me everyday.”  When you live with this understanding, you will know that whenever you are traveling, God is going in you. Therefore when you pray, pray with confidence knowing that the Father is going with you and in you everywhere you go because you are the temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in you.

CONFESSION
Wherever I am, the Holy Spirit is there. I carry God in me because I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. God owns my spirit. God owns my body. God owns my soul. God owns my mind. Praise God.

For further study read:
2 Corinthians 6:16, Ephesians 2:21-22, 1 Peter 2:5.

DOING THE WORD
Fear not, you are not alone. God is in you and with you always.

You are a living temple 1.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Romans 12:1(KJV)

The Bible tells us in our opening scripture to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. Why is it important for you to present your body as a living sacrifice? It is because your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit according to 1 Corinthians 3:16 which says, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” This shows you that the Holy Spirit is always dwelling in you. That means that as a child of God there is never a time that the Holy Spirit is not present in you because you are the temple of the Holy Spirit.(John 14:16)

Therefore as the temple of the Holy Spirit, wherever you are God is present with you in the person of the Holy Spirit. So, whatever cannot be done when we are gathered together to worship in the physical church building should not be done by you when you are outside, no matter where you are because you are the church. This is why the life of sin cannot be practiced by a Christian because there is no place you can sin any more because you are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The temple should be holy. See 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

PRAYER
Dear Father I present myself to you as a living sacrifice pure and holy to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to you in Jesus Name. Amen.

DOING THE WORD
Be God conscious every time and everyday.

Worship with understanding.

“For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.”
Acts 17:23(KJV)

In our opening scripture today, Paul was speaking to the men of Athens who were a very religious people. He made them know that even though they were religious, they worshipped ignorantly because they didn't know who they were worshipping.

This means that worship begins with a revelation. For some people, worship is just something they do in church, while for others it is just a religious activity that they observe from time to time. But as we see in our opening scripture, Paul said that these people ignorantly worshipped God because they lacked the revelation of who God is.

When people think of worship most of the time, the only thing that comes to their minds is slow singing, but worship is much more than just singing with your lips, your heart must be fully in your worship which should also be expressed in the outward expression of heartfelt honour towards God in your daily life.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I ask that you grant unto me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. Grant unto me insight by your Spirit so that I will be able to offer acceptable worship and service to you with my life always.

DOING THE WORD
Let your daily life be an outward expression of honour and reverence to God.

Worship with your best gift.

“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11(KJV)

From our opening scripture today, we see that when the wise men came to worship Jesus, after they fell down and worshipped, the Bible says that they also opened their treasures and presented gifts to Jesus;  gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. This shows us that your worship is not complete until you have given an offering.

When you study through the Bible, you will notice that it was their custom to always go with a gift whenever they were to go and see a king. This was why the Queen of Sheba brought so much gifts when she came to see Solomon the King of Israel at that time. (See 1 Kings 10:1-2) Why? She knew that she was going to do homage to a king. It was done as an act of honour.

Do you know that there are some Christians who give the least whenever they come into the house of God? The reason they give so little is not because that is all they have, no. They give the least because they think that when they give, they are giving to the Pastor and not to God.

We worship Jesus, and Jesus is a King. The Bible tells us about Him in the book of Revelation 19:16, “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Therefore, when you give in the house of God, know that you are not giving to the Pastor, you are giving to the KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. So learn to always give your best as an act of worship.

PRAYER
Dear Father expose every seed of falsehood that have entered into my belief system concerning giving, and I commit to always give my best whenever I am called to sacrifice in the church and for the kingdom in Jesus Name. Amen.

DOING THE WORD
Don't offer to God what cost you nothing
2 Samuel 24:24.

Listen for God's voice.

“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”
Psalm 95:6(KJV)

Child of God it is important for you to understand that you don't worship God on your terms, you worship God on His terms. Our opening scripture shows us how saying, “O come, let us worship and bow down…” This means that when you worship the Father, do not only bow down physically, it is also important you bow down in your heart, in other words, give the Lord your whole focus.

Why should we give Him our whole focus as we worship, the Bible gives us the answer in Psalm 95:7, “For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,” This shows us that if you worship God the right way, giving Him your whole focus, you will hear His voice. He will speak to you.

This is what I have experienced in my own life, for instance I got my calling from God during a time of worship on the 5th of April 1996 while attending a camp meeting, the Man of God was singing songs in worship to the Lord, and I was also worshipping with all my heart, then the Lord spoke to me, “Preach the full message of this new life  Acts 5:20(NIV)” Another defining moment in my life was on December 1st 2002,  I was watching Pastor Benny Hinn worship, and the Lord spoke to me saying, “The hunger of a generation is on you.” On another occasion again during the time of worship, the Lord said to me, “Go with the presence of my Spirit and demonstrate the Power of my Spirit.”

Therefore, the next time you have an opportunity to worship, worship with all your heart and then listen for God's voice because He will speak to you.

PRAYER
Dear Father I ask that as I minister unto you today and pray, I thank you for my ears is anointed to hear, and my heart is anointed to receive your Word to me in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
2 Kings 3:15-16, Acts 13:2-3, Isaiah 55:3.

DOING THE WORD
Be focused to hear a specific word from God for you today even as you go for service.

Serve God acceptably

“A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible. And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.”
 Malachi 1:6-8(KJV)

Worship takes a new meaning when you understand and practice the right way to worship the Father as revealed to us in our opening scripture. It brings you an understanding that your best should always be for the Lord. Give the first and the best to God - your time, your talent and your treasure. (Matthew 6:21)

When you are in a service in the house of God, what is your attitude? For instance if the Pastor or whoever is moderating the service tells everyone to stand up and worship the Lord, will you stand up? But do you know some people will remain sitting after such an instruction has been given? But if they are in a public function and they are told by the moderator of that event to stand upin honour of the President or the Governor, they will all stand up.

They act differently in the house of God because they do not know how to worship which reveals their lack of reverence for God. Therefore, as you learn about these things in this devotional on the right way to worship the Father acceptably, start practicing them and watch the Father promote and honour you in every way.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I acknowledge your greatness. You are the great and mighty One. The One who was, the One who is, the One who is to come. I acknowledge that there is no one else like you. You are the first and the last, the beginning and the end. You alone deserve all the glory and praise, in Jesus Name. Amen.

DOING THE WORD
Serve the Lord with reverence. Give Him the glory due to His Name.

Worship releases honour.

“… but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.”
1 Samuel 2:30(KJV)

Worship means to highly regard a person, a place or a thing. Worship gives honour to the object of worship. The Lord said plainly to His people, “… for them that honour me I will honour, …” this reveals to us that every worshipper will surely receive honour from the Father.

When Abraham worshipped God in offering to God his one and only son, the Lord said to Him in Genesis 22:12, “…for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.” Then the Lord said to him again in Genesis 22:16-18, “By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.”

Therefore, I encourage you today to guide your life with the principles of true worship and you will surely receive honour from the Lord just like David.

PRAYER
Dear Father, in the Name of Jesus I surrender my heart, all that I have, and all that is within me to always bring you honour and glory. Amen

Psalm 91:14, John 5:44, John 12:26, 1 Samuel 13:14,

DOING THE WORD
Seek only the honour that comes from the Father and not the honour from men.

Seek Him early.

“A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour?...”
Malachi 1:6(KJV)

Our opening scripture shows that worship deals primarily with honour. Do you honour the time you set to meet with God. Do you take the time for service in chruch seriously knowing that it is an appointment with your Heavenly Father who you honour? Do you plan to go early for meetings with your Father? Or you do not see it that way, so you go late for services and meetings with God always. If you had a meeting with the Governor, you know you will plan to be there early. How much more an appointment with your Heavenly Father?

I remember one time I was going for a meeting and I was getting late, so I started running. When the security man saw me, he asked, “why are you running?” I answered, “it is because I am late for the service.” Why was I running? I highly regard every appointment I have with the Father. What about you, is that your attitude to the Father?

PRAYER
Dear Father I ask that you stir up in my heart a fresh fire and passion for you and the things of the kingdom so that I will always offer acceptable worship to you always in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Psalm 63:1-2, Psalm 84:2, Psalm 84:10, Proverbs 8:17.

DOING THE WORD
Be punctual for services and meetings with God in church or your personal time with the Lord. It's a proof of honour.

Worship with your giving.

“And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.”
Genesis 22:5(KJV)

Do you know that your giving is an act of worship to God? This is why I ask people this question sometimes: “The way you give to God, is that the way you will give to a Governor?” The Bible says in Malachi 1:8(GNB), “When you bring a blind or sick or lame animal to sacrifice to me, do you think there's nothing wrong with that? Try giving an animal like that to the governor! Would he be pleased with you or grant you any favors?"”

The first time the word worship was used in the Bible was in Genesis 22 when Abraham was going to offer to God his only son Isaac. Abraham said to the young men Genesis 22:5, “… Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship…” is the Hebrew word ‘shachah’ which means to depress, to prostrate, in other words, Abraham was saying he was going to prostrate before the Lord, and what he was actually going to do to express that was giving his one and only son Isaac whom he loved. This was his best.

This shows us that when you talk about worship, you are saying that you are honouring God above all else. You are saying that you are honouring God above what you like, or what you want in obeisance and in doing reverence to Him.

When the reality of these truths is clear to you, you will realize that a lot of persons are not worshipping God in truth, though they may be singing or professing that they are worshipping God, but worship is more than just the words you say to the Father, it is revealed practically in what you do and in what you give in honour of the Father.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for the grace that was upon the Macedonian chruch is heavy upon my life, causing me to give of myself and of my resources willingly in honour of the Lord and for the furtherance of the gospel in Jesus Name. Amen.

1 Chronicles 29:2-17, 1 Kings 3:4-5.

DOING THE WORD
Whatever the Lord impresses upon your heart to give, give it in honour of the Lord.

Worship with your heart.

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.”
Matthew 2:1-2(KJV)

In our opening scripture, the wise men sought after Jesus, saying that they are “…come to worship him.” They came to worship, in other words, they came to do homage to Him, they came to adore Him.

God wants worship for us as His children to be a lifestyle. This is because when worship becomes a lifestyle, when we gather, the power of God will be stronger and there will be more results in our lives.

The question I will like to ask you today is this: is your worship always from your heart? It is important you always worship from your heart because any worship that is not from your heart is empty. Worship must be something you do deliberately from your heart to the Lord.

For instance, when you sing songs in worship to the Lord, all you attention must be completely taken off you and directed to the Lord.

Your worship will be empty if you are singing in worship to the Lord and then at the same time you allow yourself to be distracted with other things like using your hands to fix your hair and worshipping at the same time.

When you really want to worship God in songs, set out a time for it, do it with reverence with all your heart by delibrately turning your attention away from every other thing and everyone else including yourself to the Lord. It is then the presence of the Lord will be released mightily upon you because of your reverence for the Lord.

PRAYER
Today set out a time to give to the Lord undivided attention as you worship and adore Him because that is what he deserves.

Matthew 15:7-9, John 4:23-24, Romans 1:9, Philippians 3:3,

DOING THE WORD
Always worship the Lord with reverence from your heart.

Reverence for the Word of God.

“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me,…”
Matthew 15:8-9(KJV)

o worship means to highly regard a person a place or thing. Therefore if you willfully make  decisions that go contrary to the Word of God, you are missing an opportunity to be a true worshipper. This reveals to you that worship is a lifestyle. So, every time you do things in conformity to the Word of God, you are worshipping. This is because God and His Word are One.(See John 1:1) Therefore living in line with the Word of God in your everyday life is worship to God. This is what helps some of us get more results in our everyday life because we know what true worship is.

For instance, if God gives you an instruction and tells you to give someone a particular thing or amount and you went and acted accordingly, you have actually performed an act of worship. If the Word of God tells you to honour your Father and your mother which He actually commands you to do in Matthew 15:4, and you practice the Word and honour your Father and your mother, you are actually performing an act of worship.

So you see that worship is more than just what we do in our Church services when we sing and pray even though these things are important. Jesus is letting us know that worship is a lifestyle that is consistent with the Word of God. Therefore anytime you do anything that goes against the Word of God, you are not worshipping.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for the grace to be a doer of the Word of God, as I do your Word, may it be confirmed in me with signs following for the glory of your Name. In Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Psalm 42:1-2, Psalm 63:1-2, Job 23:12, Jeremiah 15:16

DOING THE WORD
Be a doer of the Word of God.

Total surrender.

“So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life--your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life--and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.”
Romans 12:1(MSG)

Worship begins with dedication. There must be an heartfelt dedication to God on your part. Psalm 95:6-8 says, “O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, …”

Therefore to be a worshipper, you must be sold out to God. The first thing you have to offer to God as a worshipper is yourself, that is your 'spiritual act of worship.' In Matthew 15:8, Jesus said to the scribes and Pharisees, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.” This again shows us that worship goes beyound singing, your heart must be surrenderd to God. Remember what satan said to Jesus in Matthew 4:9(ALT), “"…All these I will give to You, if having fallen down, You prostrate Yourself in worship before me."” Notice he didn't tell Jesus to bow down and sing, instead he said, “…prostrate Yourself in worship before me.” All he wanted was for Jesus to bow to him in surrender.

Now the question I will like to ask you today is this: have you totally surrendered all to Jesus? Who you are, what you have; your body, your mind and your emotions, have you completely given them over to Jesus as an offering? That is where true worship begins from.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for by your grace helping me, I will live conscious of my consecration to you in my everyday life and the fulfilment of your perfect will for my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Ezekiel 33:31, 2 Corinthians 8:5, Philippians 1:20, Romans 6:19.

DOING THE WORD
Acknowledge God in all that you do. We live by His grace.

True worship.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Romans 12:1(KJV)

The New International Version(NIV), translates Romans 12:1 thus: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship.”

This shows us that worship begins with a personal dedication to God. So if you are truly a worshipper, you will be someone who is willing to deny himself or herself for God's glory and for God's cause. If you are not, you are not a worshipper, you are just offering lip service. This is why today there are many singers but only a few worshippers.

The question I will like to ask you today is this: have you dedicated yourself to God? Are you willing to deny yourself for God's glory and for God's cause? That is where worship begins from. I am a worshipper and I have dedicated myself to God. I am always willing to deny myself for God's glory and for God's cause. That is one of the reasons for the results I get in ministry.

I have completely given myself to the Lord. That is the context you are to understand worship, and until you understand worship that way, you will not be a true worshipper.

PRAYER
Dear Father I completely surrender myself to you for your glory. I offer my heart, my body, all my abilities and all my resources to you, to be used for your glory and the furtherance of your kingdom on earth in Jesus Name. Amen.

DOING THE WORD
Whatever God tells you to do or whatever is impressed in your heart to do for the furtherance of the kingdom, please do it. Don't hold back anymore.

What is worship?

“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.” Psalm 95:6(KJV)

Worship can be defined as the heartfelt expression of honour, value or respect to God in word, song or deed. Worship is also the outward expression of heartfelt honour towards God in a way and manner that is consistent with the Word of God.

Many years ago, John Calvin said that God disapproves of all modes of worship not expressly sanctioned by His Word. John Stott said that all worship is an intelligent and living response to the revelation of God. Mark Arthur said that true worship merges heart and mind in a response to pure adoration. He also said that genuine worship is a response to divine truth.  This means that whenever I do what the Word says, I am worshipping.

Worship is a lifestyle. Therefore everyday of your life is an opportunity for you to show your heartfelt expression of honour, value or respect to God in word, song and deed. This is why the Bible says in Clossians 1:17, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” This means that all that you do including your talking and your actions should manifest Christ and glorify God because you are the body of Christ.

The Bible way to worship.

“The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”
John 4:19-20(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we can see that people worship for different reasons, some worship according to the traditions of their fathers just like the woman in our opening scripture who  worshipped God based on the traditions of her fathers.

There are many things we do in our worship to God because our fathers told us to do them, or our Pastor's told us to do them, or it could be something you learnt from your school or the fellowship you belong to. You may just be worshipping God based on the traditions of your fathers just like this woman did. She worshipped God on the mountains just because her fathers worshipped God there. That's religion.

Religion is the way man has chosen to worship God, and it has been said that one of the reasons for the divides in this world is religion, and that's true because even among the children of God, there are divisions that originated from religious practices and beliefs. For instance, the woman said to Jesus, “Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”

The question I will like to ask you today before you start accusing others as the woman did to Jesus concerning the way they worship is this. Do you know what worship is? And do you know the right way to worship the Father(God) as prescribed in the Word of God? If you don't, then open your heart to the teachings in this month's devotional and your life will be enriched with the right knowledge on how to worship the Father in spirit and in truth. God bless you.

INSTRUCTION

DOING THE WORD
Thank the Father for filling you with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.

God is with you

“… I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 28:20(KJV)

When Jerry Savelle came to Africa to pioneer churches, in one of those villages he was pioneering a church, there was a particular witch doctor who used to trouble him by throwing stones on his roof and lizards on his bed.

Then, one day while he was in church preaching, the witch doctor came into the service, everyone was surprised to see him in church because they all knew who he was. When Jerry Savelle later asked the witch doctor why he came to church,  the man said he came because every time Jerry Savelle walked towards him,
the evil spirit that works with him leaves.

I want you to understand that Jerry Savelle did not even know that this was going on every time he walked towards the witch doctor until he was told by the witch doctor. In the same way, you may not even know what is happening when you walk towards some of those wicked people around you. The Bible says in Psalm 68:2, “As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.”

Be conscious and know that the wicked cannot stand against the power and the presence of God in your life, but if you walk in fear, your fear will empower them against you. This is because what you fear is what will come upon you (See Job 3:5). So do not live your life in fear, be confident and know that the presence of God is in you, with you, and around you, twenty four hours a day everyday of your life. Praise God.

CONFESSION
God is in me, God is with me, God is for me, God is around me, and I dwell in God, therefore the presence of God is always with me and goes with me to every where that I go, all those that have risen up against me, they will stumble and fall because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

DOING THE WORD
Rejoice because you have the victory.

Fear not

“Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.”
 Isaiah 54:15(KJV)

Pastor John Hagee shared a testimony about a member of their church whose son was into the sales of hard drugs. When this man joined the church, his son later got saved as well and stopped selling drugs. But the drug addicts came to him and demanded that he has to continue selling drugs for them or they will kill him.

When the boy received that threat on his life, his father came to Pastor John Hagee crying, and Pastor John Hagee asked to know the reason why he was crying, and he told him. Then Pastor John Hagee said, its easy, all he needed to do was to prepare a dinner for them, invite them to come for the dinner and then tell them to leave his son alone or they will have to face God.

So the father of the boy went back to his house and did as he was instructed by Pastor John Hagee. He prepared dinner and invited the four guys who threatened his son. They came, ate dinner with him, then he told them to leave his son alone or they will have to face God. On hearing that, they laughed and they went home. Not long afterwards, the four of them died mysteriously.

If only you will understand how much God is committed to your welfare, you will lose all your fears. Why? You are confident in God's Word that any one that rises up against you shall surely fall for your sake.

PRAYER
Dear Father I know that as the mountains surrounds Jerusalem, so you surround me. Thank you Father for I know you have given your angels charge concerning me and every member of my family. No evil shall befall us and no plague shall come near our dwelling in Jesus Name. Amen.

DOING THE WORD
Fear no evil, you are protected.

Freely you received

“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:8(KJV)

Today, child of God I want to encourage you to be confident to pray for the sick in the Name of Jesus, because the more you use that Name and you see results, the greater your faith will be in that Name.

I will like to share an experience I had when I prayed for a blind woman some years ago. To be honest with you, when I saw the old woman and the way she looked, in my head I didn't think she will see. But then I released my faith and prayed in the Name of Jesus for her eyes, then I asked her, “mama can you see?” to the glory of God, she answered and said, “I can see the light.”

Why did she see? Was it because I fasted? No. It did not work because I fasted. It worked because of faith in the Name of Jesus. The reason why I fasted was so I could exercise my faith in the Name of Jesus.

For example, your fasting would not make the President a President, he is already a President. How much more God? So, your fasting doesn't make God powerful, He is already powerful. Therefore, what makes the Name of Jesus work for you is not just because you fasted, but it works because of your faith in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER
Dear Father I take my eyes off myself and every confidence I have in the flesh. I cast all my confidence in Jesus and His love for me. I choose to live by His faith today and always in Jesus Name. Amen.

Do you know that whenever you make a demand in the Name of Jesus, God's glory is at stake? This is why Jesus said in our opening scripture, whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, in other words, Jesus was saying that whatsoever you ask in my name I will make it happen. Why? “… that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

Therefore if Jesus said what He meant, and meant what He said, it means that whatsoever you demand in His Name shall be done unto you for the glory of God. Notice that Jesus did not say I will do it after you have fasted long enough. No.

I believe in fasting and I fast, but if your faith is in your fasting and not in the power vested in the Name of Jesus, it means you will not be willing to pray when an emergency comes up. When you are faced with an emergency case, what will you do? Is it that moment you will start fasting and praying? That is the moment for you to exercise your confidence in God and His Word by using the Name of Jesus to change that situation and it shall be done. Why? It is because you know Jesus is committed to bringing to pass whatsoever you demand in His Name, so that the Father may be glorified.

CONFESSION
I refuse to fear or worry concerning tomorrow or whatever challenge that life brings my way. I am confident knowing that in the Name of Jesus I can change things in my favour.

DOING THE WORD
Use the Name of Jesus to change any unpleasant circumstance or challenge that comes against you.

Have confidence in the Name 1

“And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”
Acts 3:16(KJV)

In our opening scripture today, we see Peter the apostle testifying concerning the healing of the lame man at the beautiful gate. He testified to those who were amazed by the miracle that was done. He made them know that it was through faith alone that has made the man strong and has given him perfect soundness.

Why is it important for every one of us to understand this? It is important because for some Christians, when they want to pray for others they want to do it by their own power and ability, in other words, their focus is usually on themselves and not on Jesus. So, they shout, they beg, they cry, so that God can be merciful and hear their prayer and heal.

The reason is because they have not come to understand and have faith in the power and authority that is in the Name of Jesus. I want you to settle this in your heart today that whenever you use the Name of Jesus every devil must obey, have such confidence and don't expect anything less irrespective of how long

you've been a Christian. You can get results in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for your love towards me. I also thank you for the assurance you have given to me in your Word that whatsoever I ask in the Name of Jesus you will do. Thank you Father for the abundant supplies of your grace and your benefits toward me today and always in Jesus Name. Amen.

DOING THE WORD
Pray with confidence in the Name of Jesus.

What do you have?

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: …”
Acts 3:6(KJV)

Today, I want you to observe the words of Peter in our opening scripture. He said, “such as I have give I thee” The question here is: What did Peter have?

To understand what Peter had, I will like to share with you from Matthew 9 where Jesus had just healed a lame man, in Matthew 9:8, the Bible says, “But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.” The word power in the verse you just read actually means authority. This is made obvious to us in the Good News Bible which puts it this way, “When the people saw it, they were afraid, and praised God for giving such authority to people.”

This was what Peter knew he had. He knew God had given him power and authority, so he knew what he had. He knew he had the right, the capacity and the jurisdiction to make the lame man walk in the Name of Jesus, so he said to him; , "I have no money at all, but I give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I order you to get up and walk!" Acts 3:6(GNB)

Do you know that you also have been given the same authority as a child of God in the Name of Jesus to do mighty works and to heal the sick?  Therefore start using the Name of Jesus today with confidence and God will back you up.

CONFESSION
In the Name of Jesus I declare that I am healed from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, my organs and every part of my being is made whole. In the Name of Jesus I declare that my harvest is coming to me right now for God's glory.

Faith in the Name.

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;”
Mark 16:17(KJV)

Every Christian has the same authority in the Name of Jesus. So the Name of Jesus doesn't work because one person is more anointed than the other, no. Anointing and authority are two different things. The Name of Jesus works not because of the anointing you carry, but because of your faith in the power in the Name.

Matthew 7:21-22 says, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?” Notice that the Bible says that these people prophesied, they cast out devils and they did many wonderful works in the Name of Jesus. They had faith in the Name of Jesus and they performed real miracles in that Name, but they lived unrighteous lives, which disqualified them from inheriting the kingdom of God.

This is why Jesus said about them in Matthew 7:23, “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” So, Jesus knew they were working iniquity, yet they were able to do all the things they did in the Name of Jesus. How come that was possible? You would better understand this when you understand  that the legitimacy of an authority is not gotten from the one on whom the authority is delegated to, but instead the legitimacy of any authority comes from the source from which the authority is gotten.  This is why Peter said in Acts 3:12, “… Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?” The Name of Jesus will work for you because of your faith in the power vested in that Name.

Confession.
I have authority in the Name of Jesus because of my faith in the authority vested in His Name. Therefore nothing shall be impossible unto me in Jesus Name.

Doing the Word
Be confident to use the Name of Jesus.

What are you saying? 2

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;”
2 Corinthians 4:13(KJV)

Our opening scripture is teaching us a principle of scripture which states thus: “I believed, and therefore have I spoken;” This reveals to you that what you are saying about your health, your finances, your marriage, your spouse, your children, your job, etc. is what you truly believe with your heart. This is because the Bible says in Matthew 12:34, “… for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”

What have you believed in your heart from the Word of God concerning the various areas of your life? Start speaking it. If you do not speak it, you do not really believe it.

God told Abraham that He had made him the Father of many nations yet the man had no child. Then God changed his name from Abram to Abraham and immediately he went out and announced to everyone that his name is no longer Abram but Abraham, meaning father of a multitude. His response is a proof that Abraham believed God even though he had not yet had a child. He kept on speaking his believing for many years, but sure enough, he got his child  Isaac.

Therefore, if you  will not give up on your faith and the corresponding action of your faith through your confession and action, you will surely reap if you faint not.

Confession.
I am blessed, I am favoured, I am full of wisdom, I am righteous, I am holy, I am justified, I am prosperous, I am fruitful, I am excellent, I am rich, I am full of joy, I have peace, I live in health, I am full of God twenty four hours a day everyday of my life in Jesus Name.

Doing the Word
Keep the Word in your mouth.

What are you saying? 1

“I create the fruit of the lips; …”
Isaiah 57:19(KJV)

Do you know that it is what you are saying that God is going to create for you? He has given you the authority to determine whatsoever you want with your mouth. Your mouth can hinder what God seeks to do in your life and your mouth could also release you into what God has ordained to happen in your life.

For instance, when God was bringing the children of Israel from Egypt to the promised land, most of them kept on confessing that they were going to die in the wilderness. They even accused God of bringing them into the wilderness to kill them.  As a result of their confession that they were going to die in the wilderness, God said to them in Numbers 14:27-30, “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me, Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.”

Yes they died in the wilderness as they had always confessed, but it was not God's will for them to die there. His will was to bring them into the promised land, but they died in the wilderness because man refused to agree with God. So no matter what God has determined for your life, if you are standing against it with your words, you will not see it happen.

Confession.
In the Name of Jesus I declare that God's Word to me is true. No matter how I feel, no matter what I see, no matter what I hear. I choose to believe the Word of God. His Word is perfect, all His ways are just and He is ever faithful and true to me. There shall not fail any of His good word to me. I believe that it shall be unto me as He had said. Amen.

Doing the Word
Always keep your confessions in line with the Word of God.

God is waiting on you.

“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 18:18(KJV)

The Bible in our opening scripture is teaching us a principle. It is letting us know that what you allow in your life is what God will allow in your life, and what you disallow in your life is what God will disallow in your life.

So you are responsible for where you are today. If you do not like where you are today, you are to blame because you allowed it. God has given to each one of us who are His children the authority to determine our own fortunes in life. This is the time for you to take responsibility for your life and stop tolerating satan around you. Stop complaining and saying that you are waiting for God to do something, when in reality, God is waiting for you to bind what you don't want, and loose what you would like to see perpetuated in your life.

Therefore, I want you to know that until you say something, God does nothing. This means that you are a prophet over your own life. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 8:4, “Where the word of a king is, there is power: …” So live your life with this consciousness that you have enough power in your mouth to produce whatever changes you desire to see in your life. Learn to use your mouth right always for your own benefit.

Confession.
The Word of salvation is near me, it is in my heart and in my mouth, therefore I declare that all things are working together for my good. The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places, I have a goodly heritage. I am blessed in my body, my family is blessed, my bank account is blessed, my mind is blessed and I am living life without limits in Jesus Name.

Doing the Word
Speak life and what you want to see into your life.

Start Reigning 2.

“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
Revelations 5:10(KJV)

Our opening scripture reveals to us that we have been made kings and priests unto God. This means that you are a priest, but you are also a king unto God. We are priest because we have been called of God to offer up spiritual sacrifices to the Father. As kings we reign over territories by exerting our authority, sovereignty and dominion given to us in Christ for the furtherance of the kingdom of God on the earth.
Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “… I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” This reveals to us that the authority that we have in Christ cannot be overpowered by any other force. We have absolute jurisdiction and authority over all the cohorts of hell by the authority that has been vested in us in Christ.

In 1 John 4:4 the Bible says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Therefore, because you know that the greater One lives in you and you have overcome the world, I encourage  you to do what the Bible says in Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the  power of his might.” Do not be subservient to anything. God has given you the authority and the ability in Christ to change anything that you do not like happening to you or around you. This is why you are learning about your authority and how to function in it.

Confession.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare: I  am strong, the Word of God abides in me and I have overcome the wicked one. The Greater One lives in me, therefore I cannot be overpowered by any other force. I have absolute jurisdiction and authority over all the cohorts of hell by the authority that has been vested in us in Christ.

Doing the Word
Fight the good fight of faith, maintain your victory in Christ.

Start Reigning 1.

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. …”
Revelation 1:5(KJV)

In our opening scripture, the Bible calls Jesus Christ the Prince of the kings of the earth. If He is the Prince of the kings of the earth, then who are those known as the kings of the earth? The Bible gives us an answer to that in Revelation 1:6, “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

So when the Bible refers to the Kings of the earth in Revelations 1:5, He is referring to those of us who are born again children of God. We are the kings of the earth. The Bible bears witness to this truth again in Revelations 5:9-10 saying, “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”

This is God's desire for everyone of His children. He wants each and every one of us, male or female, young or old, He wants each of us to reign as kings in this life from the moment we are born again. This is why the Bible says in Romans 5:17, “For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” You have been born again into a life of dominion so start reigning.

Confession.
I am born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible. I am born of the Word of God that liveth and abideth forever. I have been born into a life of dominion because I have received the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness, therefore I reign in life by my Lord  Jesus Christ.

Your position in Christ.

“Christ is now in heaven, where he sits at the right side of God. All angels, authorities, and powers are under his control.”
1Peter 3:22(CEV)

Our opening shows us that Jesus Christ has the highest position in heaven, having all angels, authorities, and powers under His authority. But it is important you know that understanding Christ position will help you know where you are now positioned as a child of God.

In Ephesians 2:4-6, the Bible says, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” So, if we are seated together with Him, that means angels, authorities and powers are subject unto us. Therefore, you need to understand that now that you are born again, all devils including satan himself is subject unto you.

This is why the Bible says to us specifically in Ephesians 1:19-23(CEV), “I want you to know about the great and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power he used when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven. There Christ rules over all forces, authorities, powers, and rulers. He rules over all beings in this world and will rule in the future world as well. God has put all things under the power of Christ, and for the good of the church he has made him the head of everything. The church is Christ's body and is filled with Christ who completely fills everything.”

Confession.
The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in me, therefore I declare that resurrection power is at work in me. All forces, authorities, powers and rulers are subject unto me because I am a member of the body of Christ who is the Head of everything.

A right to the Name.

Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.”
Acts 19:13(KJV)

Today, I will like you to notice that these men in our opening scriptures who went about casting out devils were not believers. The Bible calls them vagabond Jews. So because they were not born again, they did not have the right to use the Name of Jesus like those of us who are born again in Christ.

As a result of the illegal use of the Name of Jesus by these men, the Bible says in Acts 19:15-16, “And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”

Now the story is different for every born again child of God. It doesn't matter how many years ago you have been born again, or maybe you got born again yesterday. You still have absolute authority in the Name of Jesus over every devil because that Name have been given to every child of God. So be confident as you use that Name because all devils will surely obey you because  “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4.

Confession.
I declare that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I have been born of God, therefore I have overcome the world and I have a right to use the Name of Jesus to command and enforce obedience over all devils, principalities and all powers.

Doing the Word
Fear no evil, you have the Name of Jesus.

The devil is your subject 2.

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.”
Luke 9:1(KJV)

Our opening scripture reaffirms to us that we have been given power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases. That power is in the Name of Jesus that has been given unto us as stated in Luke 10:17, “… even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.”.

Therefore I will like you to make this confession, say “I have power and authority over all devils.” Do you believe this? In Luke 10:1, the Bible says, “After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.”

This shows us that these men that Jesus sent out was not part of the twelve apostles of Jesus. The Bible records that these were seventy others, they had never casted out devils before, yet Jesus sent them out in His Name, and in the process of the work, as they addressed devils in the Name of Jesus, the devils obeyed. Why? It is because, whenever we are using the Name of Jesus, we are releasing the authority of Jesus. And no devil can stand that authority. Therefore, know that every child of God has been commissioned to cast out devils in the Name of Jesus. You do not need to be known as a Pastor before you can function in your authority in Christ, all you need to have is faith in the Name of Jesus.

Confession.
I thank my God who has given me the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore I declare that I am strong, am unmoveable, am steadfast, always abounding in the work of the Lord because I function in the authority of the Name of Jesus.
