Saturday, July 2nd Why did Jesus come? “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 Jesus came to reveal the Father (God). Jesus made it possible for us to have intimacy with the Father. There is no religion in the world that calls God Father, but in Christianity, man is made to have a vital relationship with God as Father. Christianity is men becoming sons of God. In John 14:7 Jesus said, “If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” This means that having a revelation of Jesus equals a perfect picture or revelation of the Father. Jesus is the Father manifested in the flesh. He is the embodiment of the Father. Isaiah 9:6 shows us that one of the names of the Son (Jesus) is, The everlasting Father. “…his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Jesus is the Father revealed. John 14:8-11 say, “Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.” Prayer. Dear Father, I ask that you give to me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: John 1:14-18, John 8:15-19, John 17:1-3. Doing the Word Thank the Lord for a divine revelation of who Jesus is this month. Bible reading for today : Luke chapters 1-5
