Change your view.

Thursday, July 14th Change your view. “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2 The word ‘sons’ in our opening scripture is from the Greek word 'teknon' which refers to ‘one begotten or born’. This means that everyone that is born again is born of God. When you look at yourself from the human point of view, you may find it difficult to believe that you are born of God, but the Bible shows you from our opening scripture God's view of you. You are born of God now. The Bible goes on to say, “…when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” This means that as we behold the revelation of Jesus we are changed into that same image. This is because we become what we see. We become what we are exposed to. There is a story told of a mother dog whose leg was run over by a car. Though the dog was pregnant when the accident happened, she did not lose the baby. As a result of the accident she always dragged one leg whenever she walked. When she finally delivered her children, all the puppies began to drag one of their legs just like their mother. They had to carry all the puppies away from their mother because they will end up walking that way. The reason why many are living the way they are today with a lot of struggles and weaknesses is because of what they have been exposed to. Many have been raised in dysfunctional homes and a dysfunctional society with so much vices been perpetuated before them. So, now they are reproducing what they have seen. If we are going to change that, then we must show them a new picture. When they are able to see the picture of who they are in Christ and keep it before them every time and every day, it will give them a new view of themselves which will in turn cause them to act accordingly because, as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Confession. Dear Father, I thank you for your Word to me today, I choose to see myself the way you see me. Therefore, I declare on account of your Word in 1 John 4:4 that I am not a weakling; I am strong because greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
