Monday, July 4th Get to know Him. “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” Matthew 16:13 What is your opinion of Jesus? For some persons, Jesus is a man. For others, He is a teacher, rabbi, the founder of a religion, etc. No matter what your opinion of Jesus may be, there is more to Him. Therefore, it is important that you have a clear revelation of Jesus from the Bible because your revelation of Jesus determines the quality of your Christian experience. Matthew 16:16-17 say, “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” This shows that your revelation of Jesus brings a blessing into your life. Notice that Jesus was speaking specifically to Simon Peter showing that it is the man that has the revelation of Jesus that is blessed. That means, the revelation you possess is what determines the quality of your life. So, if you want your life to be better, it will not come by wishing; it comes by seeking. You will have to get into the Word of God: reading, studying, meditating and listening to the Word so that you can get revelation because the revelation you have right now is what determines the quality of your life. Get into the Word of God for yourself and let it open your heart and show you new possibilities. Prayer. Dear Father, I ask that you give to me a deeper and more intimate revelation of the person of Jesus that will launch me into greater depths in my Christian experience and the blessing, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Matthew 16:16-19, 1 John 4:15, 1 John 5:20. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 6-10.
