Wednesday, May 13th Made like Him. “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:10-13 Many of the Jews in Jesus’ day did not recognize who He was because they were focusing on His humanity. They saw Him eat the same food they ate. They saw Him sleep. They saw Him as a carpenter, the son of Joseph. When they saw His humanity, they found it difficult to believe that He was the Son of God. It is easy to get familiar with the supernatural because the supernatural is not spectacular. If Jesus fell down from heaven with trumpets sounding and a loud voice coming from heaven calling out to all men that He was the Messiah, they would have found it easier to believe on Him. Also, if there was a halo shining around the head of Jesus every time He showed up for all men to see, maybe they would have believed He was the Messiah easily. Instead, Jesus looked like every other person in appearance yet He was the Son of God in truth and power. In the same way, if you have received Jesus according to our opening scripture, you are a son of God, born of God. Stop looking at yourself based on what you are physically. Choose to see yourself from God's perspective as revealed in the Word of God because as you do, the more of that life and glory will be manifested through your life. You have been born after Christ. Confession. In the Name of Jesus, I declare according to 1 John 5:4 that according to my faith in Jesus Christ, I am born of God; therefore I have overcome the world. Amen.
