Learn from Jesus 1.

Learn from Jesus 1. Friday, July 22nd “And He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was [habitually] obedient to them; …” Luke 2:51(AMP) Your attitude to parental authority reflects, to a great extent, your attitude to divine authority. Rebellion is, first of all, a spiritual condition before it appears in conduct. Jesus our ultimate example was meek and lowly in heart. He did not rebel against His parents. The Bible says He was habitually obedient to them. In other words, He was submissive. He had respect for His parents. There are many who are suffering today because they have no respect for their parents. You have to always have the right attitude when you are dealing with your parents. They may not be always right but you are commanded by the Word of God to honour them and Jesus replicated that for us to follow in His steps. The Bible says in Proverbs 20:20(CEV), “Children who curse their parents will go to the land of darkness long before their time.” Ephesians 6:2-3 say, “Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” Instruction. I encourage you to pray for your parents today; if you have parents that are not saved, pray for their salvation. For further study, read: Matthew 15:4-6, Mark 7:9-13, Romans 13:7. Doing the Word If you know you have dishonoured your parents in any way, make sure you apologize to them and begin to honour them. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 4-6 and Mark chapters 12-14
