Love The Lord

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth
them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me
shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and
will manifest myself to him.”
John 14:21.

There is an anointing you will not walk in
without loving God. Jesus said in our opening
scripture that when you love Him
and keep His commandments, the Father will love
you, He (Jesus) will love you and will manifest
Himself to you.

In Matthew 10:37 Jesus said, “He that loveth father
or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he
that loveth son or daughter more than me is not
worthy of me.” Do you know I love my Lord more
than my father and my mother? I remember there
was a time I had to make a decision on my call after
my graduation and I had to stick with the Lord even
though my father wanted me to work in Shell. I
choose to go all the way with the Lord full time
because that was what He wanted. Today, I have no
regrets.

I also heard of Benny Hinn's story, how his father
told him, “Benny, renounce this Jesus or I will
disown you.” He refused to renounce Jesus and
though his father dealt with him seriously he still
did not renounce Jesus. At the end, God gave him
such a unique anointing in his twenty's that
Kathryn Kuhlman carried in her sixty's. He was
able to access such an unusual anointing by His
love for God.

Now you know why I told you at the beginning of
today's devotional that there is an anointing you
will not walk in without loving God.

Confession.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare the Lordship of
Jesus over my spirit, my soul and my body. I
surrender my mind, my will, my emotions, my
heart and my body to please and honour You all
my days, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Love People Not Things

“If our faith is strong, we should be patient with the
Lord's followers whose faith is weak. We should try
to please them instead of ourselves. We should think
of their good and try to help them by doing what
pleases them. Even Christ did not try to please
himself…”
Romans 15:1-3 (CEV)

Our opening scripture teaches you how to
treat others rightly. Use things to bless
people. Use things to help people. Never
use people to get things because that is not the right
way to treat people.

You must learn that people are more important
than things. That is why people who invest in other
people always have things because before God,
people are more important. I tell you the truth, if
you invest in people, God will give you things.

Remember the words of Jesus in Mark 8:36, “For
what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole
world, and lose his own soul?” . This means that the
whole world is not worth the value of a soul in
God's eyes. Therefore when I win souls, God will
give me anything in the world that I need. This is
the secret behind the wealth you find in soul
winning ministries.

I encourage you to start winning souls and make it
your priority, even in the coming year, and you will
always have an abundance. Why? You are using
what you have; your time, knowledge, etc. to bless
people. The bottom line is this: “People are more
important than things.”

Instruction.
Please read Matthew 15:32 and Proverbs 19:17
and ask the Father to fill your heart with
compassion for the poor.

Do You Love Me? 8

“I pray that your love will keep on growing more
and more, together with true knowledge and perfect
judgment, so that you will be able to choose what is
best. Then you will be free from all impurity and
blame on the Day of Christ. Your lives will be filled
with the truly good qualities which only Jesus Christ
can produce, for the glory and praise of God.”
Philippians 1:9-11 (GNT)

Our opening scripture reveals that when the
love of God truly abounds in your heart, it
will stir your heart towards holiness and
godliness. Anyone who professes to be a Christian
and lives an immoral life is living that way because
He is not yet made perfect in the love of God which
is in Christ Jesus.

Titus 2:11-15 (TLB) says, “For the free gift of eternal
salvation is now being offered to everyone; and
along with this gift comes the realization that God
wants us to turn from godless living and sinful
pleasures and to live good, God-fearing lives day
after day, looking forward to that wonderful time
we've been expecting, when his glory shall be seenthe
glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
He died under God's judgment against our sins so
that he could rescue us from constant falling into
sin and make us his very own people, with cleansed
hearts and real enthusiasm for doing kind things
for others. You must teach these things and
encourage your people to do them, correcting them
when necessary as one who has every right to do so.
Don't let anyone think that what you say is not
important.”

Confession.
Father in the Name of Jesus, I declare according
to my faith believing that the grace of the Lord
Jesus is activated in me right now because I am
a member of His Body. His DNA is activated in
me and the same love in Him is activated in me.
May that same life, passion and grace in Jesus
that came from the Father, be activated in me, in
Jesus' Name. Amen.

20 things that you should do in 2020 (Part 1)

1. Start each day with Prayer and fellowship with God the Father. What you do first everyday is your utmost
priority. Honor God by putting Him first everyday. Prayer is an expression of humility and dependence on God.
Imitate Jesus and become a man or woman of daily prayer. See Psalm 5:1-3; 63:1; Mark 1:35; Luke 6:12

2. Read your Bible everyday, If possible with the guide of a daily devotional. God’s Word has cleansing power. It
cleanses your mind and strengthens your faith. Start your day each morning with the Word to set the tone and
direction of your mind for that day. See Romans 10:17; Psalm 119:9,11,97-100; Ephesians 5:25; John 15:3;
8:30-32

3. Read a chapter in Proverbs everyday. A chapter in Proverbs is a training in wisdom. Whenever you increase
the measure of your wisdom, your quality of life and your decision making improves. The real issue in our lives
are wisdom issues. See Proverbs 1:1-7; 1:22-33; 3:13-24; 8:1-21. Pray the following Scriptures everyday:
Ephesians 1:17; Colossians 1:9; Philippians 1:9.

4. Do something good for someone everyday. Good deeds have a way of coming back to us in bigger and greater
proportions. Be generous. Sow a good seed into someone’s life everyday. Make it a habit. Consistent giving
leads to consistent receiving. See Proverbs 11:24-25; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8; Galatians 6:6-10

5. Win twenty souls in the year 2020. 2020 is a year of harvest. Give God something to remember by becoming
an intentional and avid soul winner. We are all called to win souls. Ask God for the boldness and the wisdom to
win souls. Soul winning is a refreshing exercise. See Proverbs 11:30; John 4:34-38; James 5:19-20

6. Declare what you want to see manifested in your life everyday before you step out into your day. The words we
speak create the future we see. Use your mouth to make your year beautiful. Deliberately and diligently speak
what you desire to see in 2020 everyday. See Isaiah 57:19; Proverbs 18:20-21; 13:2-3; Mark 11:22-24

7. Read at least one good book every week. Whenever you upgrade your mind, you upgrade your life because
your life is always a reflection of the contents of your mind. See Proverbs 23:7; 23:23; Job 8:7-10 MSG

8. Spend time with your family. Time with family cannot be overemphasized. You can only expect returns from
where you make investments. God wants you to be an all round success. That includes family. See Genesis
18:19 MSG; Isaiah 58:7 MSG; Titus 2:4-5; 1 Timothy 3:4-5 AMPC

9. Set new and challenging goals. Be clear about what you want to achieve. Clarity inspires. The greater your
clarity, the greater your motivation and your drive to pursue your goals. See Proverbs 29:18; Nehemiah 2:1-6
MSG; Joshua 14:6-12

10. Watch what you say. Your words can make or break you. Your words can attract people to you or keep people
away from you. Fill your words with love and rich biblical content to make them a blessing whenever you
speak. See Ephesians 4:28 MSG; Matthew 12:34-37 MSG; Proverbs 15:23; 12:14

Do You Love Me? 7

“We love him, because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19.

One prayer I will encourage you to pray is
for God to grant you a revelation of His
love towards you. This is important because
when you come to understand the depth of
God's love for you, it will change your attitude and
response towards Him.

When God fills your heart with His love for you, it
becomes easy for you to obey Him. Do you find it
difficult to obey God or to sacrifice anything for
Him? Then you need to pray this prayer for
yourself.

For instance, Abraham was a man who obeyed God
promptly even when God tested him by asking him
to offer his only son Isaac whom he loved. Abraham
did not negotiate with God, neither did he delay in
carrying out what God had asked him to do. He did
not consider that if he offered Isaac, there will be no
future. No, if that was what will please God, he was
willing to do it. God's pleasure had become his
obsession even if it meant offering his only son
whom he loved. His love for Isaac was not greater
than his love for God. God was first in His life.
Whois first in yours?

See what God said through an angel to Abraham in
Genesis 22:12 (TLB) when he was just about to kill
his son and offer him to God whom he loved above
all else, He said "Lay down the knife; don't hurt the
lad in any way," the Angel said, "for I know that
God is first in your life-you have not withheld even
your beloved son from me."

I encourage you to reserve the first place in your life

Instruction.
Please read Ephesians 3:14-19 and ask God to
reveal His love to you.

Do You Love Me? 6

“Then Jesus explained: "My nourishment comes from
doing the will of God, who sent me, and from
finishing his work.”
John 4:34 (NLT).

Your commitment to see to the fulfillment of
your divine destiny is proof of your love for God.
Are you committed to see your destiny
fulfilled or you are just living your life casually?
When your love for God is burning hot, you will be
able to say like Jesus in our opening scripture, "My
nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who
sent me, and from finishing his work.” Is that your
passion?

A young man was so passionate about doing the
work of God and since he had no job he engaged
himself meaningfully with God by praying five
hours and going out for evangelism for eight hours
everyday. As he consistently did this, suddenly he
got a job with a multinational company who paid
him a whole year’s salary in advance before he
started working. Have you heard of something like
that before? It happened because he did not live his
life casually. He got radically involved with the
fulfilment of his divine destiny because we have all
been called to do the work of the ministry as
ambassadors of Christ.

Are you committed to the fulfillment of this
destiny? When you are, you will begin to
experience miracles of unusual magnitude. I
challenge you today to get committed and watch
God show up and show off through your life.

Instruction.
Please read 2 Thessalonians 3:1 and pray that the
gospel will continue to spread rapidly all
around the world through every available
means it is being preached today.

For further study, read:
John 4:35-36, John 15:16, Romans 10:13-15.

Do You Love Me? 5

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added
unto you.”
Matthew 6:33.

Do you know that your love for God will
affect the relationship you have with Him
and the returns you get from your life here on earth?

This is why our opening scripture admonishes you
to ‘seek first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added
unto you.’ This refers to prioritizing the kingdom or
giving the kingdom first place which is proof of
your love for the Lord because as you do, you will
grow in intimacy with God and profit exceedingly
with your life.

I heard of a young man in Nigeria who because of
his passion, loyalty and commitment to the things
of God grew his cell fellowship to over a hundred
people in one month and suddenly in the same
month, got a scholarship to study in America at the
expense of the university that gave him admission.
When he was summoned by the university to
America, he was interviewed by the president of the
university himself. Imagine the great honour God
gave him.

What brought such profit and reward into the life of
that young man? It was his passion and love for
God. He was willing to go all the way to reach many
for the Lord. Therefore, since he prioritized God's
number one priority, God prioritized him and gave
him an enviable testimony.

Instruction.
Please read Mark 6:34 and ask the Father to give
you compassion for the ignorant.

For further study, read:
Proverbs 11:30, Daniel 12:3, Luke 19:10.

Doing the Word

Do You Love Me? 4

“This is my commandment, That ye love one
another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no
man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I
command you.”
 John 15:12-14.

Merry Christmas! Today, we celebrate the
birth of our Lord Jesus Christ all over the
world. He is God's gift of love to us and
He willingly laid down His life for us so that we
would be saved. He had a choice not to die, but He
died for us because He loved us. By that sacrificial
act of love He gave us an example to follow in His
steps.

As you join millions of people all around the world
to celebrate His birth today, do not forget that He
wants you to be like Him. He wants to live through
you and touch the world by His love expressed
through you.

The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 (NLT),
“But we don't need to write to you about the
importance of loving each other, for God himself
has taught you to love one another. Indeed, you
already show your love for all the believers
throughout Macedonia. Even so, dear brothers and
sisters, we urge you to love them even more.”

I urge you to go out of your way today to do
something special for someone who least expect it.
Make God's love tangible to someone around you.
Let them feel the love of God because they are
within your reach. More so, you can reach out to
someone with the gospel of Jesus Christ, by so
doing, you will be extending His kingdom of love
by giving Jesus room in the heart of someone else.
Make this day count by becoming an ambassador of
love to everyone around you. This will bring peace
on earth and joy to heaven because there is joy in
heaven for one sinner that repents than ninety-nine
just persons who do not need repentance. Now that
you know this, what are you going to do about it?
Remember that Jesus is counting on you to make a
difference. It's your move.

Instruction.
Please read Matthew 9:36 and thank the Father
for the gift of salvation then ask the Father to
give you compassion for the lost.

For further study, read:
Nehemiah 8:10, Luke 2:10-11, Luke 15:3-10,
1 Timothy 6:17-18, 1 John 4:7-11.

others with the love of Christ today.

Do You Love Me? 3

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the
friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is
the enemy of God.”
James 4:4.

Are you a friend of the world? Are you fond
of the world and excited about the things of the
world more than your love and
excitement for God? If you are, as a Christian, then
there is something wrong with your love for God.

Your love for God should be greater than your love
for the world and the things of the world. If you do
not have such love for God, you cannot fulfill your
destiny in God.

1 John 2:15-17 (AMP) says, “Do not love or cherish
the world or the things that are in the world. If
anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in
him. For all that is in the world — the lust of the
flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust
of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the
pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in
the stability of earthly things] — these do not come
from the Father but are from the world [itself]. And
the world passes away and disappears, and with it
the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the
lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and
carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains)
forever.”

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You cause Your love to
constrain my heart to do what pleases You
always and restrain me from doing what would
displease You, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

For further study, read:
Matthew 6:24-33, John 15:19, John 17:14,
Colossians 3:1-3.

Doing the Word
Esteem the things of God more highly than the
things of this world.
