Addicted To God 1

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If
anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not
in him.”
1 John 2:15 (NKJV)

Love is an affectionate emotion. Therefore
when you love someone, you will become
addicted to them. With this in mind, you can
tell if someone actually loves God or they love the
world and the things in the world.

For instance, when last did you read your Bible?
When last did you pray? If you cannot remember, it
means you do not love God. If you are addicted to
the things of the world, the love of the Father is not
in you.

Are you in love with God? Then you will be
addicted to Him to the point that if they were to
arrest someone for being a Christian you will be
arrested. If you were to be arrested because you are a
Christian, will they find enough evidence to convict
you? They would not if you still smoke cigarettes or
drink alcohol like unbelievers. If you still indulge
yourself with the mundane things of this life, it
means you are not in love with God yet. It means
there is not enough evidence to convict you for
being a Christian.

Being religious and being in love with God are not
the same. When you are in love with God, you will
want to talk about Him all the time. Are you that
way? When last did you tell someone about God?
When last did you win a soul to Christ? All these are
some of the parameters used in examining
Christian addiction to God and the things of God.

Instruction.
Please read Philippians 1:9 and ask the Father to
increase your love for His Word like never
before.
