Love Adds Value 1

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16

True and pure love as exemplified by God
who is the embodiment of love reveals that love is self-giving and self-sacrificing.

Ephesians 5:25 admonishes all husbands to love
their wife the way Christ loves us, it says,
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also
loved the church, and gave himself for it;”

Lust like we learnt yesterday takes advantage of the
object of love. So, if you are taking advantage of
anyone as a single person, or you are taking
advantage of your spouse as a married person you
are in lust not love.

Love adds value to the object of love. If you love
someone, you will add value to their life and make
them better.

God's love for us added value to us by making us
His sons and daughters when we believed in Him.
1 John 3:1 says (HCSB), “Look at how great a love
the Father has given us, that we should be called
God's children. And we are! The reason the world
does not know us is that it didn't know Him.”

Lust is preoccupied with its own interests and
pleasures. So, if you only think of your own
pleasure and how to satisfy yourself, even in
marriage, that is lust. Hence, I encourage you
to seek ways you can satisfy the
needs of your spouse and add value to them. That
is love.

Instruction.
Please read James 3:16 and bind devils of strife
and divisions arrayed against marriages and
families.
