20 things that you should do in 2020 (Part 1)

1. Start each day with Prayer and fellowship with God the Father. What you do first everyday is your utmost
priority. Honor God by putting Him first everyday. Prayer is an expression of humility and dependence on God.
Imitate Jesus and become a man or woman of daily prayer. See Psalm 5:1-3; 63:1; Mark 1:35; Luke 6:12

2. Read your Bible everyday, If possible with the guide of a daily devotional. God’s Word has cleansing power. It
cleanses your mind and strengthens your faith. Start your day each morning with the Word to set the tone and
direction of your mind for that day. See Romans 10:17; Psalm 119:9,11,97-100; Ephesians 5:25; John 15:3;
8:30-32

3. Read a chapter in Proverbs everyday. A chapter in Proverbs is a training in wisdom. Whenever you increase
the measure of your wisdom, your quality of life and your decision making improves. The real issue in our lives
are wisdom issues. See Proverbs 1:1-7; 1:22-33; 3:13-24; 8:1-21. Pray the following Scriptures everyday:
Ephesians 1:17; Colossians 1:9; Philippians 1:9.

4. Do something good for someone everyday. Good deeds have a way of coming back to us in bigger and greater
proportions. Be generous. Sow a good seed into someone’s life everyday. Make it a habit. Consistent giving
leads to consistent receiving. See Proverbs 11:24-25; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8; Galatians 6:6-10

5. Win twenty souls in the year 2020. 2020 is a year of harvest. Give God something to remember by becoming
an intentional and avid soul winner. We are all called to win souls. Ask God for the boldness and the wisdom to
win souls. Soul winning is a refreshing exercise. See Proverbs 11:30; John 4:34-38; James 5:19-20

6. Declare what you want to see manifested in your life everyday before you step out into your day. The words we
speak create the future we see. Use your mouth to make your year beautiful. Deliberately and diligently speak
what you desire to see in 2020 everyday. See Isaiah 57:19; Proverbs 18:20-21; 13:2-3; Mark 11:22-24

7. Read at least one good book every week. Whenever you upgrade your mind, you upgrade your life because
your life is always a reflection of the contents of your mind. See Proverbs 23:7; 23:23; Job 8:7-10 MSG

8. Spend time with your family. Time with family cannot be overemphasized. You can only expect returns from
where you make investments. God wants you to be an all round success. That includes family. See Genesis
18:19 MSG; Isaiah 58:7 MSG; Titus 2:4-5; 1 Timothy 3:4-5 AMPC

9. Set new and challenging goals. Be clear about what you want to achieve. Clarity inspires. The greater your
clarity, the greater your motivation and your drive to pursue your goals. See Proverbs 29:18; Nehemiah 2:1-6
MSG; Joshua 14:6-12

10. Watch what you say. Your words can make or break you. Your words can attract people to you or keep people
away from you. Fill your words with love and rich biblical content to make them a blessing whenever you
speak. See Ephesians 4:28 MSG; Matthew 12:34-37 MSG; Proverbs 15:23; 12:14
