Do you believe?

Sunday, July 31st Do you believe? “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life …” John 3:36 From our opening scripture, it is evident to us that believing is the key to receiving from God. Romans 10:11-14 say, “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” This is why this devotional has come to you with God's 'Now Word' for your salvation, and if you will only believe, you will be able to receive and take a hold of all that God has in store for you in Christ Jesus. Believing in Christ Jesus sets you free from all condemnation (See John 3:17-18, John 5:24). The blessing of believing in Jesus is enormous. In Mark 9:23, “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Your believing is what determines if you will get answers to your prayers or not. Jesus said in Matthew 21:22, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” So, the man who does not believe would not receive. If you believe, you will do the works that Jesus did and even greater works. Jesus said in John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” We receive remission of our sins because we believe. Acts 10:43 says, “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” We are justified by believing in Jesus. Romans 3:26 says, “To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” Praise God. Confession. I am a believer and not a doubter. I believe that God is who He says He is. I believe that God can do what He says He can do and I believe that God will do what He says He will do. I am what God says I am. I have what God says I have and I can do what God says I can do. For further study, read: Mark 11:23-24, Mark 16:17-18, John 20:31, Acts 13:38-39, 1 Peter 2:6. Doing the Word If you are not born again, I encourage you to pray the prayer of salvation on page 68. Bible reading for today: John chapters 19-21 and Matthew 26-28

God is at work in you.

Saturday, July 30th God is at work in you. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 You are not alone. God is in you, energizing you and producing in you the desires and the ability to do His good pleasure. God is working in you, talking in you, talking through you and loving through you. You have become God's headquarters on earth today. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:16, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” You have been made God's outreach centre to your world. You are God's point of contact and He wants to reach your world through you. God is within their reach because you are there. In 2 Corinthians 3:5-6, the Bible says, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” In our own selves and power, we are limited in ability to reach our world for God and to do His good pleasure, but when He enables us by His Spirit, we become empowered to reach our world with His power and to do His good pleasure. Now, they can find Christ in you because Galatians 3:27(ALT) says, “For as many as were baptized [or, immersed] into Christ put on [or, clothed yourselves with] Christ.” When Christ was here on earth carrying out His ministry, the Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:19 that, “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself …” Today, the Bible says that Christ lives in you (Colossians 1:27). If Christ lives in you, it means that He will continue to carry out His ministry of reconciling the world to God through you in His power. See 2 Corinthians 5:20. Confession. Christ in me, the hope of glory. God was in Christ and Christ is in me. I am not trying to reach God; He is already resident in me. I am His home, His abode, His dwelling place. I cannot leave Him because I carry Him in me wherever I go. The presence and the power of God is in me, twenty four hours a day every day of my life. Praise God! For further study, read: Acts 18:10, 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12, Hebrews 13:20-21. Doing the Word Be conscious of God's presence in you and with you everyday. Bible reading for today: John chapters 15-18 and Matthew 23-25.

Cast out devils.

Friday, July 29th Cast out devils “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; …” Mark 16:17 Today I want you to know, according to the Word of God, that every Christian can cast out devils. Jesus said in Matthew 12:28, “But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.” Therefore, every time we cast out devils, we are demonstrating the power of the kingdom of God. As a Christian you must understand that the devil has been completely defeated and put under your feet because you are the body of Christ. Ephesians 1:22 says, “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,” The Christian is superior to satan. Luke 10:17 says, “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.” The word 'subject' in the Greek means 'to be in subjection to in order to hear and obey.' Kenneth Hagin shared a story of how he went to preach in a certain church and he could not really minister effectively, because it was as though his words were bouncing back to him. So he went on a fast. While he was praying inside the church building, God opened his eyes and he saw a demon like a baboon on top of the church building. He rebuked the demon and it fell down. Afterwards, the demon said to him, “I do not want to go but I have to go if you tell me to.” The demons harassing you may not want to go, but they have to go if you tell them to because they are your subjects; they are ranked under you to obey you. Confession. In the Name of Jesus I declare, according to the Word of God in Luke 10:17, that all devils are my subjects; they are ranked under me to obey me. Therefore whenever I cast them out, they obey. Amen. For further study, read: Acts 8:5-7, Acts 16:18, Acts 19:12. Doing the Word If you sense any demonic hindrance or harassment of any kind within your sphere of influence, cast them out. Bible reading for today: John chapters 11-14 and Matthew 20-22.

As He is...

Thursday, July 28th As He is … “… because as he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17 Our opening scripture really dawned on me many years ago when the Lord shared with me what I am going to share with you today. The Lord said, if I am as He is, whatever is in Him that made Him what He is, is in me. Also, if I am as He is, whatever is on Him that made Him what He is, is on me. And if I am as He is, whatever He has that made Him what He is, I have it. That rocked my world. This is why we say that Christianity is not a religion; it is a union. Christianity is man becoming united with God. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:17, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” The Amplified Bible puts it this way, “But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.” This means that, as a Christian, in your spirit you are plugged into God. That is what is called the intermingling. That means you are lost in God. Acts 17:28 says, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; …” Ephesians 5:30 says, “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.” 1 Corinthians 6:15 says, “Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? …” Colossians 3:3 says, “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” For anything to touch you, it has to touch God first. When you understand this truth, no missile can work against you. You will know that you are indestructible. That is what it means to be a Christian; you are more than a mere human. You have been united with Christ in God. Confession. In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I am a Christian. I am united with Christ in God. In Him I live, and move and have my being. Whatever is in Him that makes Him what He is, is in me. Whatever is on Him that makes Him what He is, is on me. And whatever He has that makes Him what He is, I have it. Amen. For further study, read: John 5:24, John 10:28-30, 1 John 3:2. Doing the Word Do not forget your true identity, always think, talk and act it. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 17-19 and John chapters 7-10.

It matters what you say.

Wednesday, July 27th It matters what you say. “I create the fruit of the lips; …” Isaiah 57:19a One of the things you need to change for you to become all that God wants you to be is to change what you say. What are you saying about your life? What you are saying is what God will create for you. This works whether you are a Christian or not. Your words are deciding the outcomes of your life. That is why before an unbeliever can be saved, he has to speak the right words. He has to confess the Lordship of Jesus with his mouth; otherwise he will not be saved. Read Romans 10:9-10. There was a secular musician in America who was asked in an interview if he sees himself in a long time in the show business. He said yes, unless he gets shot. In another interview he was asked the same question and he said unless a mad man murders him. Finally he died: he was murdered, and he was shot. You will not die unless you say so. The Apostle Paul was persecuted again and again yet they could not kill him. But the moment he said in 2 Timothy 4:6, “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.” He was killed. It matters what you say; when you are sitting down in your house, in your room, when you are on your own, those words you say matter. Kenneth Hagin was praying for a man and the Lord told him to stop praying because the man had set laws in motion that could not be reversed at that time. He had been confessing his death, so he died. Make this confession aloud: I will live long until I am satisfied. Instruction. Please read Psalm 79:11 and pray that God will preserve you and all your loved ones from untimely death. For further study, read: Proverbs 13:2-3, Psalm 118:17, Mark 11:23. Doing the Word Always speak life concerning your health, body and all that concern you. Bible reading for today: Luke chapters 23 -24 and Matthew chapters 13-16.

See your real picture.

Tuesday, July 26th See your real picture. “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” John 5:19 Jesus emphasized to us in our opening scripture that He can only do what He sees the Father do. This means that you cannot do, unless you see first. Therefore, your inner image is what decides your outward outcomes. Do you see yourself healing the sick? There is a minister of the gospel that said that, as he reads the gospels, anywhere that Jesus healed the sick, he will imagine himself praying and healing the sick. He said that the more he did it, the more miracles he saw. This is because, it begins from inside first. For you to be able to work miracles just like Jesus, it means that you must have what He had to be able to do what He did. This should let you know that whatever anointing Jesus had access to, you now have access to by the Holy Spirit. The Bible says in Acts 10:38, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” So Jesus healed the sick because He was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power. John 1:16 says, “And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.” If we have received of His fullness, it means that we have the same Holy Ghost and power He was anointed with to empower us to do the same works He did. This is the way you should see yourself because, that is the true picture of you. A man or woman that has the fullness of Christ to do the works of Christ. Praise God. Confession. In the Name of Jesus, by my faith based on my identity with Jesus Christ, I declare according to Acts 10:38, that I have been anointed with the Holy Ghost and power to do good, and to heal all that are oppressed of the devil because God is with me. Amen. For further study, read: Isaiah 11:2, Luke 4:18-19, John 14:10. Doing the Word Be conscious that the fullness of Christ is in you. Bible reading for today: John chapters 4-6 and Luke chapters 20-22.

Truly, truly...

Monday, July 25th Truly, truly, … “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12 Jesus said in our opening scripture, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, …” Some Jewish scholars say that the word 'verily' is used to convince your hearer that what you are saying is very true. So the word 'verily' could also mean 'truly.' This means that, what Jesus is saying to us in our opening scripture is the truth no matter how outlandish or impossible it sounds to the natural man. This means that, every Christian can do the works of Jesus; every Christian can raise the dead. Every Christian can unstop deaf ears and loosen dumb tongues. That is what Jesus is saying. Before the Lord ushered me into the ministry, He told me certain things. One of the verses He gave me before this ministry started was John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” Then He told me, “Raise Me a people.” Afterwards, He spoke to me during a fast, saying, “Raise Me a people who will do my works.” John 14:12 is one of the anchors of my life and one of the anchors of this ministry. Jesus said to us with all certainty that the works that He did shall we do also if we believe in Him, and greater works than these shall we do. This shows us that faith in Christ is access to His ability. Therefore, you can do the same works that Jesus did because you have faith in Him. Live your life with this understanding. Prayer. Dear Father, I thank you because I am strengthened with miracle-working ability according to the riches of your glory, by your Spirit in my inward man to do the works of Christ, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Mark 16:17-18, Luke 10:19, Acts 4:33. Doing the Word Always be confident to pray for the sick, expecting a miracle. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 10-12 and John chapters 1-3

Trust God's timing.

Sunday, July 24th Trust God's timing. “God makes everything happen at the right time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11a (CEV) It takes humility to trust God's timing. Do not try to make anything happen before the time. Ecclesiastes 3:1 (CEV) says, “Everything on earth has its own time and its own season.” When you jump the gun in God's timing, you make your life difficult. When you study the life of Jesus, you will notice that He made sure He stayed within the confines of God's timing. For instance, when His mother Mary came to Him and told Him that they had no wine in the marriage at Cana of Galilee, Jesus did not do anything until He knew it was time. Read John 2:1-11. The reason people lie or manipulate others to get what they want is because they do not trust God's timing. Therefore, since they believe that God is irresponsible and cannot provide, they decide to jump the process. Always remember that whenever you jump the process, you will give birth to an Ishmael, and whatever you get outside of God's will for your life can never make you fulfilled. Do not force the process. When it is time it will happen with ease. Wait for God's timing. If you will be patient with God's timing, things will happen a lot quicker. True humility is depending on God's power and His timing. When you are proud, you will be comparing yourself with your mates and your neighbors. When you are proud you will be impatient; but also remember that fast guys do not always win. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 9:11, “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” I pray that you will not miss your timing, in Jesus' Name. Amen. Prayer. Dear Father, I ask that you give to me an understanding of the times that I may know precisely what I ought to do in every phase of my life such that your timing will meet me prepared in ever season, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: 1 Chronicles 12:32, Ecclesiastes 3:17, Ecclesiastes 8:5-6. Doing the Word Apply yourself to a greater level of discipline, determination, spiritual and mental development as you press towards the fulfillment of God's plan and purpose for your life. Bible reading for today: Luke chapters 17-19 and Matthew chapters 7-9.

Learn from Jesus 2

Saturday, July 23rd Learn from Jesus 2. “And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Luke 2:51 Notice from our opening scripture that Jesus increased in wisdom as he subjected Himself to His parents. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:5, “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” Grace increased in Jesus' life because He was humble. Do not exalt yourself before time. This is what we must also learn from Jesus - the character of humility. In Matthew chapter 3, the Bible records that Jesus went to John the Baptist who, in the realm of the spirit, was less than Him, to be baptized. When John saw Jesus, the Bible says in Matthew 3:14-15(GW), “But John tried to stop him and said, "I need to be baptized by you. Why are you coming to me?" Jesus answered him, "This is the way it has to be now. This is the proper way to do everything that God requires of us." Then John gave in to him.” When Jesus humbled Himself this way, laying aside His reputation, He pleased the Father. The Bible says in Matthew 3:16-17, “…the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 1 Peter 5:6 says, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” If you are going to see the mighty hand of God, you must humble yourself. Prayer. Dear Father, I choose to humble myself under your mighty hand. I receive grace to serve with humility always, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Colossians 3:12, Proverbs 15:33, Proverbs 18:12, Proverbs 22:4. Bible reading for today: Mark chapters 15-16 and Luke chapters 13-16.

Learn from Jesus 1.

Learn from Jesus 1. Friday, July 22nd “And He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was [habitually] obedient to them; …” Luke 2:51(AMP) Your attitude to parental authority reflects, to a great extent, your attitude to divine authority. Rebellion is, first of all, a spiritual condition before it appears in conduct. Jesus our ultimate example was meek and lowly in heart. He did not rebel against His parents. The Bible says He was habitually obedient to them. In other words, He was submissive. He had respect for His parents. There are many who are suffering today because they have no respect for their parents. You have to always have the right attitude when you are dealing with your parents. They may not be always right but you are commanded by the Word of God to honour them and Jesus replicated that for us to follow in His steps. The Bible says in Proverbs 20:20(CEV), “Children who curse their parents will go to the land of darkness long before their time.” Ephesians 6:2-3 say, “Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” Instruction. I encourage you to pray for your parents today; if you have parents that are not saved, pray for their salvation. For further study, read: Matthew 15:4-6, Mark 7:9-13, Romans 13:7. Doing the Word If you know you have dishonoured your parents in any way, make sure you apologize to them and begin to honour them. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 4-6 and Mark chapters 12-14

Thursday, 21 July 2016

Be strenghtened.

Thursday, July 21st Be strengthened. “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” Ephesians 3:16 True strength comes from the human spirit. The word 'strengthened' in our opening scripture is from the Greek word 'krataioo;' it means 'to empower,' 'to increase in vigor,' 'to be strengthened,' 'to wax strong in spirit.’ This is a prayer I also encourage you to pray for yourself if you desire to be strong in spirit. You will pray that God will strengthen you in your inward man with might according to the riches of His glory. Praying this way to be strengthened in spirit is important because the condition of your spirit is what determines your character. The effect of praying this prayer in Ephesians 3:16 is found in Ephesians 3:17-19(AMP) which says, “May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!” This will be the outcome of your life when you pray this prayer. Therefore I encourage you to pray this prayer often for yourself. Instruction. Please read Ephesians 3:16 and pray the prayer for yourself. For further study, read: Micah 3:8, Ephesians 6:10, 2 Timothy 4:17-18. Bible reading for today: Luke chapters 10-12 and Matthew chapters 1-3.

Why tongues?

Wednesday, July 20th Why tongues? “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; …” 1 Corinthians 14:4a One way you can grow your spirit strong is by praying in other tongues. It is so important that you pay attention to the condition of your spirit and that is why speaking in tongues is recommended for your personal spiritual development as a child of God. Speaking in tongues will not only edify you, it will also improve you. 1 Corinthians 14:4a (AMP) shows us that, “He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself,” Speaking in tongues helps you to build up yourself according to 1 Corinthians 14:4a (ESV), “The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself,” Speaking in tongues will help you to grow faster spiritually as seen in 1 Corinthians 14:4a (GW), “When a person speaks in another language, he helps himself grow.” The Message Bible says, “The one who prays using a private "prayer language" certainly gets a lot out of it” .Therefore, if you want to always get a lot out of your personal prayer time, spend quality time praying in other tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:14 (BBE) says, “For if I make use of tongues in my prayers, my spirit makes the prayer, but not my mind.” When you pray in tongues, you charge up your spirit because praying in tongues is specifically for the development of your spirit; and the condition of your spirit is what decides the quality of your life. Instruction. If you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, read Luke 11:10-13 and then ask the Father to fill you with the Holy Spirit and then receive utterance by faith to pray in tongues. The utterances are tongues you will hear in your spirit. As you listen and hear them from within, you speak them forth in faith. That is the Lord giving you your prayer language. For further study, read: Mark 16:17, 1 Corinthians 14:2, 1 Corinthians 14:15, 1 Corinthians 14:39. Doing the Word Please take out some time to build up yourself in the spirit, praying in tongues. Bible reading for today: Mark chapters 9-11 and Luke chapters 7-9.

Receive rhema

Tuesday, July 19th Receive rhema. “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4 The word 'word' in Matthew 4:4 above refers to 'rhema' in the Greek. This refers to 'an utterance,' 'the speaking word,' 'the spoken word;' 'it is God's word to a specific person at a specific time for a specific purpose.’ Go for rhema. Rhema is received by revelation and it is revelation that accentuates growth. Therefore, when you receive the Word of God you are reading or hearing as God talking to you that is when you will be able to receive rhema, which will also aid your spiritual growth. Every time you receive rhema you are nourished. Do you know it is possible to be full of food and yet be malnourished? That is because, there is a need for balanced diet. In the same way spiritually, there is a Word you need at a particular time to thrust you forward in your walk. There is a Word you need that will produce what you believe for in your life. You would have to search for that Word until you get rhema. That is what changes you and changes your situation. One of the ways you receive rhema is through meditation. Rhema comes to you as God quickens that verse you are meditating on to you. Also, you can receive rhema when listening to a message. The Word that hits your spirit as you are listening to the message is your rhema. The rhema of God is full of power. Hebrews 1:3 lets us know that God upholds all things by the Word (rhema) of His power. Therefore, you know you have received a rhema from God when the Word you received strengthens your spirit and empowers you. Prayer. Dear Father, I thank you because, your Word in season is coming to me in this season as I hear, study and meditate on your Word, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Psalm 107:20, Psalm 147:15, Matthew 8:8. Doing the Word Always receive the Word with a readiness of mind. Bible reading for today: John chapters 18-21 and Mark chapters 7-8.

Balanced growth.

Balanced growth. Monday, July 18th “And Jesus matured, growing up in both body and spirit, blessed by both God and people.” Luke 2:52(MSG) From our opening scripture, it is obvious to us that Jesus grew physically and spiritually. That is balanced growth. This means that spiritual growth is as important as physical growth. Do not just concentrate on feeding yourself physically; prioritize feeding yourself spiritually as well. Matthew 4:4(MSG) says, “Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: "It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God's mouth."” There are many people who live their lives on bread alone, but Jesus is teaching us that it takes more than food to stay alive. Just as you eat physical food every day, do you also eat spiritual food every day? In John 6:63 Jesus said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” The physical food you eat is from dust and it sustains your physical body which is also from dust. Your spirit man is made up of the substance in God, and the Word of God which comes from God has the same substance because the Word of God is God. So, if you are going to feed your spirit, you must feed your spirit on the Word. Deuteronomy 8:3(MSG) says, “…so you would learn that men and women don't live by bread only; we live by every word that comes from GOD's mouth.” Prayer. Dear Father, I choose to lay aside all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and I receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save my soul. Your Word is producing in my life what it talks about, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Luke 2:40, Acts 17:11, 1 Timothy 4:13. Doing the Word Ensure that you feed your spirit everyday. Bible reading for today: Luke chapters 1-6.

Be like Jesus.

Sunday, July 17th Be like Jesus. “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4 God wants us to learn from the scriptures. Growing up as a child, I remember learning the acronym B-I-B-L-E as Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I think you should teach the same to your children. The scripture is God's guide book for our living on earth. Therefore, if we are going to learn from Jesus, we must go to the Bible and read the scriptures because they speak concerning Him. Jesus Christ is God's pattern Son. In other words, Jesus is our example. He is the example of who we should be and how we should live as sons of God. God wants every one of us to be like Jesus. Romans 8:29(MSG) says, “God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him.” The primary way we are going to learn to become like Jesus is through the scriptures. Ephesians 4:12-13(AMP), “His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church), [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.” Prayer. Dear Father, I thank you for as I look into your Word, the perfect law of liberty, I am changed daily from glory to glory by the power of your Spirit, in Jesus' Name. Amen. Full of grace and truth.

Saturday, July 16th Full of grace and truth. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 Our opening scripture shows us that Jesus was full of grace and truth. This means that Jesus is the embodiment of grace and truth. In John 14:6 Jesus said, “… I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” This shows us that truth is not a principle, truth is a person. In Titus 2:11 the Bible says, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,” Jesus is that grace. John 1:16-17 say, “And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” Titus 3:4 says, “But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,” This shows us that Jesus is the kindness and the love of God in action. Several years ago the Lord spoke to me saying, “Make Jesus Christ the central theme of your message.” In other words, talk more about Jesus than anything else. If you read through the scriptures, you will find out that Jesus was the central theme of their message. In 2 Corinthians 4:5 Paul said, “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.” Acts 8:5 says, “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.” Acts 8:35 says, “Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.” When Jesus is the central theme of our message, we will be able to produce the same results seen in the life of Jesus and the Apostles in our day. Prayer. Dear Father, I thank you for I have received of Your fullness. Therefore, I am supplied daily with grace in increasing measure, spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, even favour upon favour and gift heaped upon gift, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: John 3:34, 1 Corinthians 1:4-5, Colossians 2:9-10. Doing the Word Express God's grace to the unsaved around you today by preaching Jesus to them. Bible reading for today: John chapters 12-17.

Greater glory.

Friday, July 15th Greater glory. “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 Our opening scripture shows us that the glory of Christ revealed from me could be more or less than the glory of Christ revealed from you. So the glory from you can be stronger and greater, making you more loving and kinder than someone else because you have exposed yourself to the glory of Christ more than that person has. So the measure you expose yourself to Him, to that measure you will look, talk and act like Him. John 1:12-13 say, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Focus more on your connection with divinity, not on your humanity. Now that you are born again, stop looking at yourself based on what you have in your genetics. Nothing in your blood should have dominion over you anymore. Colossians 1:26-27 say, “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Therefore, because Christ is in you the fullness and the perfection of the divine nature can be revealed through your life. This is your heritage as a son of God. Instruction. Please read Galatians 4:19 and pray that Christ be formed in you. For further study, read: Romans 8:29, Romans 12:2, Colossians 3:10. Doing the Word Keep renewing your mind by the Word of God. Bible reading for today: Luke chapters 21-24.

Change your view.

Thursday, July 14th Change your view. “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2 The word ‘sons’ in our opening scripture is from the Greek word 'teknon' which refers to ‘one begotten or born’. This means that everyone that is born again is born of God. When you look at yourself from the human point of view, you may find it difficult to believe that you are born of God, but the Bible shows you from our opening scripture God's view of you. You are born of God now. The Bible goes on to say, “…when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” This means that as we behold the revelation of Jesus we are changed into that same image. This is because we become what we see. We become what we are exposed to. There is a story told of a mother dog whose leg was run over by a car. Though the dog was pregnant when the accident happened, she did not lose the baby. As a result of the accident she always dragged one leg whenever she walked. When she finally delivered her children, all the puppies began to drag one of their legs just like their mother. They had to carry all the puppies away from their mother because they will end up walking that way. The reason why many are living the way they are today with a lot of struggles and weaknesses is because of what they have been exposed to. Many have been raised in dysfunctional homes and a dysfunctional society with so much vices been perpetuated before them. So, now they are reproducing what they have seen. If we are going to change that, then we must show them a new picture. When they are able to see the picture of who they are in Christ and keep it before them every time and every day, it will give them a new view of themselves which will in turn cause them to act accordingly because, as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Confession. Dear Father, I thank you for your Word to me today, I choose to see myself the way you see me. Therefore, I declare on account of your Word in 1 John 4:4 that I am not a weakling; I am strong because greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Joel 3:10b, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 1 John 2:12-14. Doing the Word. See yourself and call yourself what God calls you.

Made like Him.

Wednesday, May 13th Made like Him. “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:10-13 Many of the Jews in Jesus’ day did not recognize who He was because they were focusing on His humanity. They saw Him eat the same food they ate. They saw Him sleep. They saw Him as a carpenter, the son of Joseph. When they saw His humanity, they found it difficult to believe that He was the Son of God. It is easy to get familiar with the supernatural because the supernatural is not spectacular. If Jesus fell down from heaven with trumpets sounding and a loud voice coming from heaven calling out to all men that He was the Messiah, they would have found it easier to believe on Him. Also, if there was a halo shining around the head of Jesus every time He showed up for all men to see, maybe they would have believed He was the Messiah easily. Instead, Jesus looked like every other person in appearance yet He was the Son of God in truth and power. In the same way, if you have received Jesus according to our opening scripture, you are a son of God, born of God. Stop looking at yourself based on what you are physically. Choose to see yourself from God's perspective as revealed in the Word of God because as you do, the more of that life and glory will be manifested through your life. You have been born after Christ. Confession. In the Name of Jesus, I declare according to 1 John 5:4 that according to my faith in Jesus Christ, I am born of God; therefore I have overcome the world. Amen. For further study, read: 1 John 3:9, 1 John 5:1, 1 John 5:5. Doing the Word. By your faith, declare your victory over the world. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 21-28.

Jesus is the Christ.

Tuesday, July 12th Jesus is the Christ. “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 16:16-17 Opinions are man-made perceptions but revelation is seen from God's perspective. In Islam, they call Jesus a prophet. Some cults say Jesus is a Christ, because there are many other christs. Both Islam and the cults are wrong because those are the opinions of men concerning who Jesus is. The Bible gives us God's perspective on who Jesus really is. He is more than a prophet and He is not a Christ. Jesus is the Christ. The word Christ is from the Greek word 'christos' which means the anointed One. In other words, He is the One in whom dwells the fullness of the Godhead. He is the God man; He is hundred percent God and hundred percent man. Jesus is the Son of the living God, according to the Bible. Yet there are some who argue that God cannot have a Son. The Bible says in Luke 1:35, “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” The power of the Holy Spirit came upon Mary, reacted with her womb and produced a child. Jesus is the Son of God. The Bible says in John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” Therefore, if you doubt these fundamentals of the Christian faith, your Christian experience will be crippled. Confession. I believe with all my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is my Lord. He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. For further study, read: John 6:69, John 11:27, Acts 8:37. Doing the Word. Let Jesus Christ be the center of the message of the gospel that you preach. Bible reading for today: Luke chapters 16-20.

What is your revelation?

Monday,July 11th What is your revelation? “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” Matthew 16:13 Religion is the worship of God based on human assumptions. Religion is also the worship of God based on human tradition or the traditions of men. From where do you get your revelation? For some people their view of God is based on what their father told them. I want you to know that the accurate view of God can only be gotten from the Word of God. What you say about God is the verbal expression of your revelation of God. Your revelation of God is what determines your attitude to life. Your attitude to life is governed by your revelation of God. Your expectations in life are also governed by your revelation of God. Psalm 27:1 says, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” David's revelation of the Lord determined His attitude to life. The reason he refused to fear and he was not afraid was because of his revelation of the Lord as the light of his salvation and the strength of his life. Psalm 23:1 says, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” David had a revelation of God which was rare in his day; he called God his shepherd. Therefore, he did not expect lack because he had a revelation of God as his shepherd. What is your revelation of God? Your revelation of God is what is deciding your attitude, your expectation and your outcomes. Therefore, if you want to change your outcomes, then get to the Word of God and get a new revelation of God. Prayer. Dear Father, open the eyes of my spiritual understanding that I might behold wondrous things out of your Word, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: 1 Corinthians 2:7-14, 2 Corinthians 3:5-6, Ephesians 3:8-11. Doing the Word Prioritize praying in tongues; it opens you up and finetunes your heart to receive revelations from God. Bible reading for today: John chapters 1-5.

Change by the Word

Sunday, July 10th Change by the Word. “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 If you want to break a bad habit, instead of focusing on your weakness, focus on getting to know Jesus. Therefore as you contemplate Jesus Christ in the Word of God, you will become like Him. What you behold is what you become. Therefore, as you are beholding in the Word of God, the glory of the Lord, you are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. When I came to Christ many years ago, there were many of my friends who also came to Christ but they were having withdrawal symptoms. What this means was that after they were born again, for instance, if they were smokers before they got saved, from time to time they would fall back to smoking until they completely broke out of that addiction to cigarettes. But I noticed that after I got saved, I did not have any withdrawal symptom. I was addicted to the Word of God; always reading my Bible because I wanted to know Jesus. That was how I was transformed and changed completely. It was not laws that changed me; rather it was my knowledge of Christ and who I was in Christ that changed me. That is what will change you as well. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” If you meditate on that scripture long enough, it will completely change your life the way it changed mine. Instruction. Please read Ephesians 1:17 and pray the prayer for yourself. Doing the Word Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly. Give priority to reading, studying and meditating on the Word of God. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 16-20.

Jesus is Lord

Saturday, July 9th Jesus is Lord. “And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:” Romans 1:4 The divinity of Jesus Christ was fully demonstrated by His resurrection from the dead. God declared Him to be His Son with power, that all men may know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God in truth. All other false Prophets who have laid claims to divinity are all dead, but Jesus Christ is the Lord of hell and death. Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 after He rose from death: “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Jesus has risen from the dead and destroyed (made ineffective), him that had the power of death, that is the devil. According to Hebrews 2:14-15, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” The Lord Jesus Christ totally defeated and paralyzed the devil. He not only defeated the devil but also delivered us from the fear of death. 2 Timothy 1:9-10 say, “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” Colossians 2:15, talking about Jesus, says, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” The forces of hell are powerless against us. They have been made ineffective, and they have been rendered completely helpless and useless. The authority is now in the hands of the church because He has sent us as His legal representatives backed up by resurrection power. Confession. I have power and authority from Christ over all the power and ability of the enemy because I am in Christ and Christ is in me. I am His legal representative on the earth, therefore nothing shall be impossible unto me, and I can do all things through the power of the resurrected Christ in me. Halleluyah! For further study, read: Acts 4:10, Ephesians 1:19-23, Ephesians 6:10. Doing the Word Fear not because all of the power of heaven is backing you up. Bible reading for today: Luke chapters 11-15.

Do you know Him?

Friday, July 8th Do you know Him? “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19 There is a popular minister in America who said, as she was praying one day thanking the Father (God) that she knows Him, the Lord answered her saying, “You do not know me.” She replied saying that she knows Him because she has raised the dead, healed the sick, etc. The Lord answered and said to her, “You can raise the dead and heal the sick and yet not know me.” This shows you that the miraculous is not the measure of your intimacy with God. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” True intimacy with God will produce integrity in your life and conduct and it will also affect your character. Activity is not also the measure of intimacy with God. This means that someone can just be carrying out religious activity out of duty, not because they are intimate with God. Anyone can claim to know God, but if their life or character is not changing and becoming Christ-like, they do not know Him. Prayer. Dear Father, I ask that my love will abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment, so that I may approve things that are excellent and that I may remain sincere and without offence till the day of Christ, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: John 10:14-15, Philippians 3:8, 1 Timothy 4:16. Doing the Word. Learn to prioritize your spiritual and character development above religious activity. Go for revelation knowledge 2.

Thursday, July 7th Go for revelation knowledge 2. “…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32b When you know God, that Knowledge empowers you. If you are struggling with spiritual weakness, get to know God and His Son Jesus Christ. That is what has got me to where I am today. Naturally, I should not be here. When I was growing up, I did not know many ministers; neither did I have any access to meet with any great man of God at that time because I did not know any of them. I only made knowing Jesus my obsession. The drive I had to know Him drove me to get a Strong's concordance and a Vine's dictionary; in them I wrote, “I want to know the Father (God) the way Jesus knew Him, and I want to know Jesus the way the Father knew Him.” And I am committed to that till this day. It was this passion that drove me on one of those days to sit down in my study for six hours, fifty-four minutes. I came out of that encounter with a book on the revelation of Jesus because I have been loading up myself on Him. How strong is your passion to know the Father and Jesus Christ? The Lord said in Jeremiah 29:13, “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jesus said in John 14:21-23, “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” Prayer. Dear Father, I ask that you give to me a revelation of who you are just like Jesus knows you and give me a revelation of Jesus just like you know Him, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Psalm 119:2, Isaiah 55:6, Luke 11:9-10. Doing the Word Let knowing Jesus be your obsession. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 11-15.

Wednesday, 6 July 2016

Go for revelation knowledge 1.

Wednesday, July 6th Go for revelation knowledge 1. “…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32b If your desire is for God to do great things through your life, then the obsession of your heart should be to know Jesus. Knowing Him refines our character, transforms and strengthens us. It is possible to know the Bible and not know God or Jesus just like the chief priests and scribes. They knew what was written in the scriptures about the Son of God, yet they did not recognize Jesus when He was born. In Matthew chapter 2 when the wise men from the East came to the palace of Herod in Jerusalem wanting to know where Jesus was born, the chief priests and the scribes of the people answered immediately, saying: “… In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.” Matthew 2:5-6. They knew the scriptures, but they did not know Jesus. The scriptures testified of Him but they did not have a revelation of who Jesus really was because their spiritual understanding was not enlightened. 2 Corinthians 4:3-6(CEV) say, “If there is anything hidden about our message, it is hidden only to someone who is lost. The god who rules this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers. They cannot see the light, which is the good news about our glorious Christ, who shows what God is like. We are not preaching about ourselves. Our message is that Jesus Christ is Lord. He also sent us to be your servants. The Scriptures say, "God commanded light to shine in the dark." Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ.” Therefore the more of Jesus Christ you know by revelation, the more the glory of God is manifested in and through your life. Instruction. Read Galatians 4:19 and pray that Christ may be formed in you. For further study, read: Philippians 3:7-15. Doing the Word. Pray that the light of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ will shine upon the hearts of all who will hear the gospel of Jesus Christ today. Bible reading for today: Luke chapters 6-10

Trust Him

Tuesday, July 5th Trust Him. “Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5 (AMP) The measure of grace available to you is equivalent to the measure of your trust in God. Also, the measure with which I trust (lean on, rely on and am confident) in God is a true reflection of my faith in Him. There is a lady in our church who wanted to have a child for many years. Her husband was a medical doctor so they tried and did everything they could medically but she could not conceive. When she gave up on trying and relied on God, immediately she conceived. What changed? She trusted more in God. She committed her way to Him, trusted also in Him and He brought it to pass. That is what you must do. Faith requires focus because faith is an expression of trust, but as long as you still have options you will not trust the Lord with all your heart. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Therefore, if all your heart or focus is not in the Word of God, you are not yet working in faith. Having faith, trusting in God does not mean you should not do what you are supposed to do in living responsibly. Do your part, but when you have done all you know to do and all you know to do is not working as you expect, trust God to cause it to turn out for your good. Your trust in God should cause you to rest from worry and produce a new sense of confidence and assurance that whatever you expect will come to pass. Prayer. Dear Father, I surrender all worries and cares in my heart to you. I chose to rest in Your Word in Romans 8:28, being confident that You cause all things to work together for my good because I love You and because I am called according to your purpose, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Peter 5:7, Hebrews 13:5-6. Doing the Word Read out your plans, goals and expectations for the month, thanking the Father for their fulfillment. Get to know Him

Monday, July 4th Get to know Him. “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” Matthew 16:13 What is your opinion of Jesus? For some persons, Jesus is a man. For others, He is a teacher, rabbi, the founder of a religion, etc. No matter what your opinion of Jesus may be, there is more to Him. Therefore, it is important that you have a clear revelation of Jesus from the Bible because your revelation of Jesus determines the quality of your Christian experience. Matthew 16:16-17 say, “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” This shows that your revelation of Jesus brings a blessing into your life. Notice that Jesus was speaking specifically to Simon Peter showing that it is the man that has the revelation of Jesus that is blessed. That means, the revelation you possess is what determines the quality of your life. So, if you want your life to be better, it will not come by wishing; it comes by seeking. You will have to get into the Word of God: reading, studying, meditating and listening to the Word so that you can get revelation because the revelation you have right now is what determines the quality of your life. Get into the Word of God for yourself and let it open your heart and show you new possibilities. Prayer. Dear Father, I ask that you give to me a deeper and more intimate revelation of the person of Jesus that will launch me into greater depths in my Christian experience and the blessing, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Matthew 16:16-19, 1 John 4:15, 1 John 5:20. Bible reading for today: Matthew chapters 6-10.

Access grace.

Sunday, July 3rd Access grace. “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord” 2 Peter 1:2 Grace is multiplied to you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. What is grace? Grace means unmerited favour. It also means divine ability or divine empowerment. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 the Lord said, “…My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness…” This means that when grace is sufficient towards you it means it is enough. It also means it will put you over and it will ward off any challenge that comes your way. Therefore, grace-conscious people live in victory. One of the reasons God's people fail is because of their consciousness in their own ability and their own strength rather than on God's grace. Grace is God's ability at your disposal because of Christ. Grace is also God's riches at Christ's expense. Therefore, if you are having any challenge right now or you are experiencing any form of weakness, I want you to know that God's power finds perfect expression in us when we are weak. In other words, grace works better when we are depending on God. So, if you want to begin to experience favour the way you should, become more grace-conscious rather than depending on your natural ability, human connection and intelligence. Prayer. Dear Father, I acknowledge that without you I can do nothing. I receive grace to be, do and have all that you have ordained for me to be, do and have, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: 1 Corinthians 15:10, 2 Corinthians 12:10, Hebrews 4:16. Doing the Word Thank the Lord for giving you more grace for very area of need. Bible reading for today: Mark chapters 1-5.

Why did Jesus come?

Saturday, July 2nd Why did Jesus come? “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 Jesus came to reveal the Father (God). Jesus made it possible for us to have intimacy with the Father. There is no religion in the world that calls God Father, but in Christianity, man is made to have a vital relationship with God as Father. Christianity is men becoming sons of God. In John 14:7 Jesus said, “If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” This means that having a revelation of Jesus equals a perfect picture or revelation of the Father. Jesus is the Father manifested in the flesh. He is the embodiment of the Father. Isaiah 9:6 shows us that one of the names of the Son (Jesus) is, The everlasting Father. “…his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Jesus is the Father revealed. John 14:8-11 say, “Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Worship Jesus

Friday, July 1st Worship Jesus. “Scripture says, "As certainly as I live, says the Lord, everyone will worship me, and everyone will praise God."” Romans 14:11(GW) During my days in the university, I met a young man who said he does not believe we should sing songs of worship to Jesus. When I asked why? He gave me the instance in Luke 18:18-19, “And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.” So, his point was that if Jesus was God why did He say they should not call Him good. Whenever I meet people who have such an understanding, I always show them Philippians 2:5-11(MSG), “Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death--and the worst kind of death at that: a crucifixion. Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth--even those long ago dead and buried--will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father.” This shows us that there is nothing wrong with worshiping Jesus. We are commanded to worship Him because He is the Master of all. Also, whenever we worship Jesus, we are giving glorious honour to God the Father. The Bible also says in John 5:23, “That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.” Instruction. Glorify Jesus for who He is by singing songs of worship and praise to His Name. Doing the Word Read these Psalms in praise to the Name of the Lord: Psalm 113 and Psalm 149. Note: In other to have a deeper revelation of Jesus I encourage you to take the challenge of reading all the gospels three times this month. To begin today, read Matthew chapters 1-5.
