Develop Character 2

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
Proverbs 13:20.

In developing your character, you must pay attention to your associations. It matters who your friends are. Friendship is like a force field, it can affect the outcome of your life. Choose the right associations.

I always tell young people that there are some things they would never had done if they did not have certain friends. This is because your friends will either strengthen or weaken certain habits.

There are people who would have never smoked, others would have gotten married as virgins, if they never kept certain associations. The Bible says, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1 Corinthians 15:33. The New Living Translation puts it this way, “Don't be fooled by those who say such things, for "bad company corrupts good character.”

If you know that your friends are weakening your good character, then you will need to change your friends.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You open my eyes to see where I need to make changes in my life and character so I can experience growth and increase in my influence, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

For further study, read:
Psalm 1:1-6, Psalm 119:63, Proverbs 2:20,
 2 Corinthians 16:14-18.

Doing the Word.
Come out of every ungodly association, friendship or relationship.
