He will not change His mind.
“Joseph's brothers realized what their father's death could mean. So they thought, "What if Joseph holds a grudge against us? What if he decides to pay us back for all the evil we did to him?" They sent a messenger to Joseph to say, "Before your father died, he commanded us, 'This is what you should say to Joseph, "I'm begging you to forgive the crime and the sin your brothers committed against you. What they did to you was very evil."' So now, please forgive our crime, because we are servants of your father's God." Joseph cried when he got their message.”
Genesis 50:15-17(GW)
The word forgive in the Old Testament is from the Hebrew word 'nasa' it means to lift, forgive and pardon. The brothers of Joseph here been conscious of their sin against Joseph was begging him to forgive their sin against him.
When Joseph got the message of his brothers, our opening scripture shows us that he cried. He cried because he had evidently forgiven them already in Genesis 45 when he revealed himself to them but yet they were not confident that he had really forgiven them, they felt he may change his mind and harm them now that their father (Jacob) was dead.
Now if Joseph who was a human being could forgive his brothers who did evil against him and did not change his mind to harm them, how much more will your heavenly Father forgive you your sins when you ask Him. When God forgives you, He does not change His mind later to harm you.
Psalm 103:12(GNB) says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our sins from us.”
