Walk in the light.
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
1 John 1:6-7
Sin blinds you spiritually. Living in sin is walking in darkness. This is why the moment you acknowledge your sin and choose to forsake them and embrace the light of God's Word, you are cleansed from all sin.
When you walk in the light of God's Word and know that you have been forgiven, it enhances your ability to see spiritually. The Bible says in 2 Peter 1:9, “For the man who has not these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having no memory of how he was made clean from his old sins.”
Peter said in Acts 2:38, “…Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” When you know your sins are forgiven you, it becomes easier for you to receive the Holy Spirit and also to walk in the gifts of the Spirit.
There are many Christians who find it difficult to receive the Holy Spirit because of condemnation in their hearts. If you are struggling with such condemnation, I encourage you to make a fresh commitment to the Lord today, and know that your sins are remitted, and then receive the Holy Spirit. Receiving the Holy Spirit as well as having the ability to pray in tongues is the right of every child of God.
Instruction.
If you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, release your faith by asking the Holy Spirit to come and fill you right now and give you utterance to pray in other tongues.
For further study, read:
Luke 11:9-13, John 7:37-39, Acts 2:1-18, 38-39.
Doing the Word.
As you pray and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and give you utterance to speak in other tongues, do not be afraid to speak forth the words that you hear in your spirit. As you speak forth, He will give you more.
