Pray From Your Heart

“Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” James 5:16 (AMP)

The third condition I will share with you today for answered prayer is that prayer must be from your heart.

Our opening scripture shows us that if your prayer is from your heart, it will produce results.

How do you pray? Do you pray wholeheartedly or half-heartedly? Praying and sleeping is praying half-heartedly. Praying and chatting with your phone at the same time is praying half-heartedly. Praying half-heartedly will not guarantee answers to your prayer. Jesus illustrated it this way in Matthew 15:7-8, “Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.” When you pray this way, you will keep losing your answers.

The next time you are praying, be focused on your prayer. Let your heart be fixed on the Lord and on His Word not on your circumstances and other distractions.

Instruction.
Please read Zechariah 12:10 and ask God to pour out upon you the spirit of prayer.

For further study, read:
Proverbs 23:26, Ezekiel 33:31, Acts 8:21, Hebrews 3:12.

Doing the Word
Pray with a focused heart on the Lord and His Word.
