“If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!” Psalm 66:18-20 (NIV)
The ninth condition to observe if you want to have speedy answers to your prayers is this: “Do not regard iniquity in your heart.” That means you should not exalt sin in your heart, if you do, you prayers will be hindered. What sin are you exalting in your heart? It will hinder you and also hinder your prayers.
How do you know you have exalted a sin in your heart? When you enjoy it. Do you feel that there is nothing wrong with that sin? Or do you excuse yourself or give yourself reasons why you should continue in that sin? If you do you are exalting that sin in your heart and it will hinder your prayers.
Do you know that sin can hinder you and also affect the quality of your health and your prayer life?
James 5:16 (AMP) says, “Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”
Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You cause Your love to abound in my heart more and more in knowledge and in all judgment, that I may remain sincere and without offence till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ unto the praise and glory of God, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
