Then Peter came to him and asked, "Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?" "No, not seven times," Jesus replied, "but seventy times seven!”
Matthew 18:21-22 (NLT)
Today, I will like to share with you another story still emphasizing the importance of forgiving from your heart those who have wronged you. Do you know that being quick to forgive can affect the quality of your health?
A dear minister of the gospel shared a story about a woman who was on a wheelchair. He wanted to pray for her to be healed and it was revealed to him by the Lord that she was dealing with unforgiveness.
When he stopped and asked the woman if she had any problem with anyone, she answered that she loved everybody. He kept on probing until she confessed that she was holding an offence against her brother. She said that she hated her brother because he cheated her from her inheritance. He encouraged her to forgive him and she did. Immediately she forgave her brother from her heart, she was instantly healed and she was able to walk out of her wheelchair.
Could unforgiveness be holding you back today? Could it be unforgiveness that has delayed the answer to your prayers? Have you forgiven the young man that raped you? Have you forgiven the uncle that molested you as a child? If you haven't I encourage you to receive grace to forgive today.
The woman I told you about earlier got up from her wheelchair because she forgave. Please do not keep strife in your heart any longer because it could be hindering your prayers.
Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that you expose every seed of falsehood that has entered into my belief system. I let go of all strife and bitterness today, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
