“But continue thou in the things which thou hast
learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom
thou hast learned them;”
2 Timothy 3:14.“
If you want to grow fast spiritually there is need
for you to continue in the things that you have
learnt from the Bible and from reputable teachers and
ministers of the Word of God. This
was what Paul was instructing Timothy to do in our
opening scripture.
For instance, when you make notes in services,
meetings or from other Christian materials, do not
just leave them afterwards without going back to
study those notes you have made. In Jeremiah
15:16, the Bible tells you that when you find truth
from the Word you ought to eat it. You do this by
making out time to go over your notes after a
service or a meeting. What I am teaching you right
now are things I have done consistently. When I
finish a service, I carry my notes and check further
scriptures because that is the way to become
grounded in what you heard.
Surface knowledge will not change your life. That is
the reason some Christians are not growing
because all they have is surface knowledge. They
received the Word of God into stony ground
because when the Word they heard is tested by
trials, etc. they begin to doubt. They fall from faith
easily because the Word did not take root in them.
(See Mark 4:16-17)
I encourage you to let the Word of God you have
heard take root and build convictions in you by
further study and meditation on the Word you have
received.
Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You fill me with the
knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and
spiritual understanding, that I might walk
worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing being
fruitful in every good work and increasing in
the knowledge of God, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Doing the Word
Go back and create the time to study your notes
and you will be amazed what you have already
learnt that you have not applied yet.
