“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the
word, that ye may grow thereby:”
1 Peter 2:2.
The thirteenth benefit of spiritual growth is
fulfilled destiny. The man or woman who
invests in his or her spiritual development is the one
who will fulfill his destiny. As long as you
still understand, think, talk and act like a child
spiritually, you will not be able to fulfill your
divine destiny. If you are going to be, do or have all
that God has ordained for you to be, do or have then it
is essential for you to grow spiritually.
The fourteenth benefit of spiritual growth is greater
effectiveness. Effectiveness in life and ministry is
the result of a spiritual condition. If you focus on
investing in your spiritual well-being, you will
make a success of your life.
In 2 Peter 1:5-10 below, the Apostle Peter highlights
important virtues you must add to your faith to
grow into spiritual maturity for greater
effectiveness.
“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your
faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to
knowledge temperance; and to temperance
patience; and to patience godliness; And to
godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly
kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and
abound, they make you that ye shall neither be
barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is
blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten
that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the
rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling
and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall
never fall:”
