“But also for this very reason, giving all diligence,
add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to
knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance,
to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly
kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these
things are yours and abound, you will be neither
barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 1:5-8 (NKJV)
Today I want to begin to share with you some
of the evidence that reveals that you are growing
spiritually. The first evidence of
spiritual growth is improved character. Your
character is the sum total of your personality. God
wants your character to reflect Jesus. Therefore the
more you grow spiritually, the more like Christ you
should be becoming. I encourage you to access your
character with our opening scripture to see how
well you have grown in Christ.
Secondly, as you grow spiritually, there will be a
transformation in your thinking. If you are still
thinking the way you were thinking before you got
born again, it means you are not growing. Romans
12:2 (NKJV) says, “And do not be conformed to this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that you may prove what is that good and
acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Thirdly, spiritual growth is access to your
inheritance. It is only by spiritual growth you will
be able to enjoy the fullness of your inheritance in
Christ. In Acts 20:32 (NKJV) Paul said, "So now,
brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of
His grace, which is able to build you up and give
you an inheritance among all those who are
sanctified.”

Doing the Word.
