“For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.” John 16:27 (KJV).
One of the things you need to understand about God the Father is that
He accepts you unconditionally. It is important you know this because
in every heart; whether male or female, young or old, rich or poor,
there is a search for affirmation from the Father and unconditional
acceptance. Your physical father may not have met that need, but there
is one sure Father that will meet that need of unconditional acceptance.
He is your Heavenly Father. Until you understand that concept, you will
not have confidence in life. The second thing the Father does for you
is to affirm your identity. Matt. 16:17 says;
“And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon
Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my
Father which is in heaven”. This reveals that no one can know who
Jesus is without the Father. In the same way no one can know the Father
without the Son. You will see this in John 14:5-6; “Thomas saith unto
him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me”. Now Jesus said He is the way; in
other words He is saying that if you want to get to where I am, I am
your way. So if we want to be able to do what Jesus did, and get to be
like Him, we've got to come through the way. And that way is Jesus. He
also said He is the truth and the life.
That is always the
progression; the way, the truth and the life. It is never the other way
round. When you meet the way Jesus, He is the truth and when you
discover truth, you will experience life. Truth always precedes life.
Jesus
said; “If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and
from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him”. John 14:7 (KJV).
Remember what Jesus said when Peter said; “thou art the Christ the son
of the living God”. And we know that sons take up the nature of their
fathers. That means that when we know Jesus we will know the Father.
Because an accurate revelation of who the Father is can only be revealed
to us by Jesus.
