Leadership Responsibility.

“And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”
 John 17:19

As a leader who is after God's heart, there are certain things you would need to deny yourself because of those you lead. Jesus sanctified Himself, so that those He led will be sanctified. The same principle applies to us today; whatever you do not want to see in those you lead, do not practice yourself.

For instance, as a father, you are the leader of your home. There are certain things you must not get entangled with for the sake of your seed and your children. This is because, if you tolerate bad habits in your life today, you will fight the same in your children. Therefore, for their sakes sanctify yourself. This is what will give you the right to lead and make your children loyal to your voice.

Do you know that, as a father, you can lay up for your children a heritage of the blessing by the way you are living your life today? Live your life in obedience to God's will so that tomorrow, God can say to your children that He will bless them for your sake, just the same way He said to Isaac because of Abraham his father, “And the Lord appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.” Genesis 26:24.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I am willing and obedient to do Your will. Lead me in the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake and grant me the grace to will and to do of your good pleasure always, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

For further study, read:
Psalm 22:30, Acts 20:28, 1 Timothy 4:15-16.

Doing the Word.
Always consider the consequences of your actions and desist from any wrong behaviour you discover because of your children and those you lead.
