Beware of covetousness.

“But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you.” Matthew 6:33(GW)

Before God brings you to your wealthy place, He trains you to master money. This is why He is teaching you to prioritize Him and not money or possessions.

The unbeliever prioritizes money and not God, so as a child of God, in case you have prioritized wrongly, you need to prioritize rightly today. That is what separates you from an unbeliever. Therefore, as a child of God, what determines your joy and happiness in life? Is it your car, your house, your money, your food, etc.?

If your joy and happiness is based on these things, it means that you have been possessed by things, because they now control your life, and your happiness. This is why you hear some persons make statements like, “Until I have that car, I will not be very happy.” Or “Until I make such an amount, I will not be fulfilled.”

Jesus said in Luke 12:15, “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” Covetousness is a trap of satan to cause you to worship mammon.

It is time to break free from all forms of covetousness, and let your satisfaction and fulfillment in life come from God alone, and not things. The things of this life will fade, they will grow old and diminish. Things are not eternal, they are subject to change. They all give temporary satisfaction.

Therefore, base your joy and fulfillment on the eternal Word of God that liveth, and abides forever. The Word of God created the world, so it can give to you every good thing of life. See John 1:3.

Confession.
Father, I acknowledge you as my source, and I rejoice in You, because You are able to supply all my need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. I rest in Your everlasting love and faithfulness towards me. Amen.
