Eternal Life

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
Romans 5:12

When did sin enter into the world? Our opening scripture shows us that sin entered into the world by one man. That man is Adam. So, what did he do? The Bible says in Romans 5:19, “For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, …” Adam's disobedience to God's word brought sin into the world and many were made sinners.

As a result, death also entered the world. The Bible says in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death …” Sin brought death. So, what is the remedy that delivers us from sin and death? The Bible says in Romans 8:1-2, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Receiving eternal life into your spirit deals with the sin nature. Sin is spiritual death revealed in conduct. Therefore, when an individual is not born again, he has spiritual death in his spirit because he is separated from God; so he sins. Sickness is also spiritual death revealed in the physical body. So, when Adam was separated from God, sickness became possible. It is said that sickness is incipient death, but the moment you receive eternal life, it stops the death processes. In other words, it would stop you from perishing. Eternal life fortifies you with righteousness in conduct and health in your body.

The Bible says in Romans 8:10-11, “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

Confession.
There is therefore now no condemnation to me because I am in Christ Jesus. I walk after the Spirit; therefore the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Amen.
