It’s time to grow.

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”                    1 Peter 2:2 (KJV)

From our opening scripture, it is obvious that Christian maturity is impossible without the Word of God, because it is the Word of God that will build you to the stage of maturity or perfection as a child of God.

If you do not give the Word of God its rightful place in your life, and feed on the Word of God by studying and hearing the Word of God consistently, you will only be a religious Christian, but you will not grow into maturity in Christ.

Spiritual maturity is measured by how much the Word of God has dominated your life; your thinking, your actions, your decisions, your words, etc. Christian maturity is not determined by how long you’ve been in church or how long you’ve been saved.

There are a lot of people who think that they are mature spiritually because they have been born again for the past thirty years. No, that is not what it means to be spiritually mature. It is the level at which the Word of God has dominated you, that is what determines your level of spiritual maturity.

Prayer
Dear Father, I pray that I may be filled with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that I may walk worthy of you, pleasing you in every way, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of you and strengthened with all might in my inward man, in Jesus Name. Amen.
