No unequal yoking.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
Genesis 2:7

Man has got three parts. He has a body which was formed out of the dust of the ground. Secondly, he is a spirit because God breathed into his nostrils the breath (spirit) of life. Thirdly, he has a soul.

The explanation above will make it easier for you to understand when we say that marriage is more than a physical union. That is why when God talks to us in scripture, he tells us not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). This is why a Christian should never consider marriage with an unbeliever. When the Bible says “What therefore God hath joined together, …” (Matthew 19:6), the word 'joined together' means yoked together. Therefore a Christian and an unbeliever cannot be yoked together because they are not of the same kind. Joining a Christian and an unbeliever together in marriage is an unequal yoking, and God tells us not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.

Another reason why you should not consider getting married to an unbeliever is because when you are getting married, you are linking your spirit, soul and body with the other person. Since the unbeliever is linked to satan in spirit, getting married to him or her is inviting satan into that union because marriage is a spiritual union.  

Therefore, never consider marrying an unbeliever; instead pray for their salvation.
