What do you wish others?

What do you wish others?

“And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die: And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.”
2 Samuel 12:5-6

Today in our opening scripture, you will observe that David was passing a judgment of death on a certain man who, he believed, had no pity. Prophet Nathan was sent by the Lord to David to tell him about a rich and a poor man that lived in the same city. The rich man who had many flocks took the only lamb that the poor man had and killed it to entertain his friend who came visiting. When David heard it, he became angry and said the rich man should be killed and made to pay fourfold. Notice that David was quick to pass judgment on the rich man, but he did not know that he was passing judgment on himself.

In 2 Samuel 12:7-9 the Prophet said to David, “…Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.”

When David discovered he was the one, he began to ask for mercy (2 Samuel 12:16). So, do not be hasty to condemn others. Sow mercy, you may just be saving your own self.

Prayer
Dear Father, teach me to always approve things that are excellent so that I will be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Doing the Word.
