The role of a father

Tuesday, April 26th
The role of a father.

“God setteth the solitary in families: …”
 Psalm 68:6

Every crime is traceable to a lack of fatherly love. The guy who steals, kills, rapes, etc. when you trace to his family, you are likely to discover a lack of fatherly love. The same thing goes for the girl who gets promiscuous; it is founded on the lack of fatherly love.

Therefore, if we are going to begin to fix the problem in society, then we must teach fathers the importance of loving their children unconditionally. This need for fatherly love can also be gotten from your heavenly Father if your earthly father failed to show it to you.

If you have been raised in a home where this need was not met, I encourage you to receive that love from your heavenly Father. Knowing that you are loved unconditionally is necessary for you to have a healthy relationship, marriage and family.

The need for affection has led many into all forms of addictive behaviours and vices. Therefore, until you receive God's love in your spirit to meet that need, you will find it difficult to break free from sexual sin and immorality.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I have discovered from your Word that I am the object of your love. You said in Jeremiah 31:3 that you have loved me affectionately with an everlasting love and with your lovingkindness have you drawn me. I receive your love to heal my heart of every wound of the past and to meet my need for affection, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Doing the Word
Think about the Father's love for you.
