“Now there were in the church that was at
Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called
Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod
the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy
Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called
them.”
Acts
13:1-2.
When
God calls for a fast, it is important you honor it because it is a divine
appointment by God to strategically position you for your destiny. That is
exactly what happened to Barnabas and Saul in our opening passage. As they
participated in the fast with the other leaders in the Church at Antioch, God
gave instructions concerning their destiny. Whenever there was a call like this
in scripture, to fast or to pray, it was always a destiny moment. Anything is
possible at such a time.
When
you read your bible in Acts 3, a miracle happened at the hour of prayer. Can
you remember the miracle? The man that was impotent in his feet who was kept at
the gate called beautiful was healed. It happened at the hour of prayer.
In
Acts 10, when Cornelius was praying, at the hour of prayer an angel appeared to
him and gave him instructions that led to his salvation and the salvation of
his entire family. So, when God calls for maybe an hour of prayer or a fast,
and He says, “Tell my people to pray at 12pm or to fast at such and such a
time, participate. Because, as long as God has called for it, it has become a
divine appointment, and every divine appointment would have an impact on your
destiny.
PRAYER
Father,
I thank you for as I participate in this divine appointment to fast and pray,
my destiny is been altered and your plan and purpose for my life is made
clearer to me in Jesus Name. Amen.

3:1-8, Acts 10:3-6, Daniel 9:21-23, Luke 1:10-13.
DOING THE WORD
Read
Habakkuk 2:14 and pray that the knowledge of the Lord would cover this whole
nation even as the water cover the sea.
