Delight in the word.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”Psalm 1:1-2(KJV)

Our opening scripture shows us that if you want to be successful, you must delight in the word of God, in other words, you must love the word of God and it must be your meditation, day and night.

The amazing thing about loving something is the tendency to always meditate on that thing. Therefore, we love what we meditate on, and we meditate on what we love. So if you find out that you really do not have a passion for the word of God like you should as a child of God, what you need to do to reignite that passion is to meditate on the word of God.

The word meditate in Psalm 1:2 is the word ‘hagah’, it means to speak under your breath, in other words, you talk the word of God to yourself. Also, discuss the word of God. Find someone that you will talk the word of God with. The word ‘hagah’ also means to device, to plot. So, think on the word of God. If you will start doing this, your love for the word of God will increase.

Whatever you expose yourself to is what you will desire. And this is one of the ways to affect your thinking. Surround yourself with images of success; listen to messages like preparing for success again and again and fill your mind with the word of God and meditate on it, when you do, you will definitely “…be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3. That will be the picture of your life. Shalom.

Prayer
Dear Father, I choose to be a doer of the word of God, therefore, as I delight myself in the word of God and meditate upon it day and night, I increase in productivity, I bring forth my fruit in my season, there shall be no dryness in my life and whatsoever I do shall prosper in Jesus Name. Amen.
