The debt you owe

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8(KJV)

Our opening scripture today shows us that love is an obligation we have as children of God. Love is a debt you owe others. You owe your wife, your husband, your children, the Body of Christ, the duty of love.

The Bible says in Romans 13:8, “… for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” In the Old Testament, if you want all of God's blessings to come upon you, you will have to fulfil the whole law. But now in the New Testament, we have been given a commandment according to 1 John 3:23, “And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.”

So, we have been commanded by God, to believe in the Name of Jesus Christ, and to love one another. When you love, you have fulfilled the whole law, and your love life is a connection to the manifested blessing in your life.

Therefore, the reason why some Christians are not seeing the manifested blessing of God in their lives in the way they ought to see them, and all they have is a result of their sweat, is because they have not learnt to love.

Jesus said in John 13:34, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” That is the only debt you should owe everyone, the debt of love.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I make a commitment today, to love others as you have revealed to me in your Word. Thank you Father for your grace is sufficient for me and your strength is perfected in me to love even as I ought to in Jesus Name. Amen.
