Sow seeds of Love 2

“Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.”
Ephesians 5:1-2(MSG)


Today I will like to give counsel to every young person reading this devotional. If you are living with your parents or guardian, I encourage you to sow seeds of love into their lives. Do not become stubborn and rude to them because they are not able to provide all the basic things that you require as a child, maybe in the standard some of your friends may be privileged to enjoy.

Don't regret that they are your parents, or begin to wish you were born by somebody else. Instead, see it as an opportunity to sow seeds of love to them. Love them unconditionally, and hold them in high esteem. It is also important that you honour them by being obedient to them.

Do what you are asked to do and even more, and above all, let them know that you love them and appreciate them. As you do, you can never be disadvantaged, because you are setting yourself up for greatness, because God will surely reward you for it by giving you favour that will bring an abundance into your life that your parents cannot give you.

Therefore, instead of complaining, use every unpleasant situation in your relationship with others as an opportunity to sow seeds of love into their lives.

INSTRUCTION
As part of sowing seeds of love, take some time today to pray for your parents.
