To prosper

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
3 John 1:2(KJV)

In the Old Testament, to prosper is from the Hebrew word 'tsalach' which means, to push forward, to break out or to break forth, to come mightily, to advance, to make progress, to increase. Therefore to be prosperous means to be endowed with the ability to go forward.

In the New Testament, to prosper is from the Greek word 'euodoo' which means, to succeed in reaching, to help on the road, success, to make progress, etc. Therefore to prosper in the New Testament means to make progress, to go forward, to succeed in reaching a goal or a target.

From the above definitions from both the Old and New Testaments, it is obvious that prosperity from God's parlance means more than money. So if you had a goal of getting married and you got married, you prospered. Why? It is because you succeeded in reaching your goal.

With this understanding, you can better appreciate what it means to prosper because you now know that every time you succeed in reaching a goal or you made progress, you prospered. So in this month's devotional you are going to be learning that God's will for you is prosperity. You would also learn how to prosper God's way and continue to heap success upon success in your journey of prosperity.

PRAYER
Dear Father my heart is open to your will of prosperity for me and by your grace I am making unhindered progress and exceeding all my goals in this month in Jesus Name. Amen.
