Reverence God 1

“The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.”
Proverbs 19:23(KJV)

Our opening scripture shows us a very important virtue we ought to cultivate in our lives. This virtue is the fear of God. Having the fear of God refers to having reverence for God. To have reverence for God is to hold him in high regard. Do you hold God highly in reverential fear and honour?

The Bible says in Proverbs 19:23, “The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.” This means that the regard that you have for God can minimize the problems in your life, this is because you shall not be visited with evil. Therefore having reverence for God and the things of God can minimize your spiritual warfare.

Unconsciously do you know that many persons physically show more regard for political public officers and their bosses than they physically express towards God? For instance if you were invited for an appointment with the President of the federal republic of Nigeria at 7am tomorrow, you will be there before 7am. Yet the same person who would not go late for a meeting with the President or go late to work doesn't mind going late for a service because he doesn't regard that service as an appointment with God.

Child of God reverence for God and the things of God is a virtue you must continue to cultivate more and more in your life because as you do you shall abide satisfied and you shall not be visited with evil.
