Come to Jesus 1

Wednesday, March 23rd
Come to Jesus 1.

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Luke 19:10

Jesus knew exactly why he came and He said it plainly. This is important because a lot of times, a lot of religious folks misrepresent Jesus to those that are lost. They show them a Jesus that does not want them to come to Him. They show them a Jesus that does not want to have anything to do with them because of their sins.

Jesus Himself said, as seen in our opening scripture, that He came to seek and to save that which was lost. He also said in Luke 5:31-32, “… They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Jesus said in Luke 15:7, “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”

God is always ready to forgive any sinner that comes to Him in faith. No matter how bad they have been, he will not turn them back. One example in scripture is the prodigal son when he came back to his father who depicted our Heavenly Father. The  Bible says in Luke 15:20-24, “And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”
