He Came To Fulfil Prophecy 3

"Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not
come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of

the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their
purpose.”
Matthew 5:17 (NLT).

According to our opening scripture, if Jesus
had not come the words written in the
writings of the prophets would not have been
fulfilled. Therefore Jesus came to fulfil their
purpose.

For instance, the prophets moved by the Holy Spirit
spoke concerning Jesus that he will be pierced and
that was exactly what happened to him. It is written
in Zechariah 12:10, “And I will pour upon the house
of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they
shall look upon me whom they have pierced, …”

This was fulfilled in the life of Jesus as seen in John
19:34-37, “But one of the soldiers pierced His side
with a spear, and immediately blood and water
came out. And he who has seen has testified, and his
testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the
truth, so that you may believe. For these things were
done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not one
of His bones shall be broken." And again another
Scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they
pierced."

Father who gave Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for
