Emotional Prosperity 2

“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”
John 15:11

Do you know that when people are depressed their joy is less? Yet Jesus wants His joy to be in you so that your joy might be full. This is why we said yesterday that joy is an emotional condition as a result of a spiritual condition.

Nehemiah 8:10 says, “… for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” If joy is an evidence of a strong spirit then depression is evidence that your spirit is weak.

Therefore, how do you strengthen your spirit so you can be emotionally prosperous? The first way you can strengthen your spirit is through prayer and speaking in other tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; …” To edify here means to build and repair the house. So when I am speaking in tongues I am doing construction work.

Hence, the reason why some Christians are not as joyful as they should be is because they are not spending enough time speaking in tongues. I encourage you to spend quality time speaking in tongues because it stirs your joy.

Instruction
Please read Romans 15:13 and ask the God of hope to fill you with all joy and peace in believing through the power of the Holy Spirit.

For further study, read:
Proverbs 15:23, Proverbs 17:22, Isaiah 12:1-3.

Doing the Word
If you ever feel depressed, spend time speaking in tongues until you have a note of victory or until a prophetic word comes out of your mouth.
