Don't hinder your prayer

Sunday, June  12th
Don't hinder your prayer.

“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”
 1 Peter 3:7

I will like to share a story about a church in America that was beginning to learn about healing and faith. Yet there was a couple in that church that fought always with each other even though they were Christians. One day, the son of that couple had an altercation with his mother, and she said to him in anger, “go and never come back.” That same day, the boy out of anger went. He also left school to his friend's house. While he was there, they were playing with his friend's father's gun and the gun which had been previously loaded went off accidentally and the son of that couple was shot in the process.

While the boy was in a coma, the whole church was praying and fasting for the recovery of the boy, but he later died. His parents became angry with God and expressing their disapproval that faith does not work. It was at this time they invited the preacher; Andrew Womack to the church. They asked him questions on why their faith did not work when they prayed for the boy. Then Andrew Womack asked to speak with the couple so he could know the details concerning them.

When he discussed with the couple, he discovered that they were a couple that lived in strife. So he showed them James 3:16, “For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” This revealed why their faith did not work; their constant quarreling and fighting brought strife into their home which hindered their prayer and produced confusion and every evil work.

Therefore, for your prayer life to be effective whether you are married or single, you must completely get rid of all envy and strife in your heart. If you don't, you will be hindering your own prayer.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I chose to forgive all who has wronged me in anyway and to walk in love towards them. I ask that you cause your love to abound in my heart more and more towards all men, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Doing the Word.
Forgive your spouse if you are holding any grudge against him or her.
