Double Mindedness

“Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; …”
Genesis 49:4.

Double mindedness is another evidence of limiting thinking. If you are unstable in your beliefs, it is proof you have limiting thinking.

There are people who become very hopeful that they are going to succeed because they have just finished hearing the Word of faith in a service. Yet a few hours afterwards, they are found confessing negatively again because of their circumstances. If you are positive in your thought one moment and negative in your thought and expectation the next moment, it is proof you have limiting thinking and you are dealing with double mindedness.

James 1:5-8 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

When Jesus told Peter to walk on water, he started walking on the water, but when he doubted because he saw the wind boisterous he began to sink. See Matthew 14:28-31.

It is faith in the integrity of God that changes your circumstances, so take God at His Word and maintain your confessions of faith without doubting because God cannot lie.

Confession.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that God is who He says He is. I believe God can do what He says He can do. I believe God will do what He says He will do. I am what God says I am. I have what God says I have. I can do what God says I can do.
