Get A Friend 1

“If our faith is strong, we should be patient with the
Lord's followers whose faith is weak. We should try

to please them instead of ourselves. We should think
of their good and try to help them by doing what
pleases them. Even Christ did not try to please
himself…”
Romans 15:1-3 (CEV)

If you are going to have a profitable year, one of
the things you need is a friend. Yesterday and
the day before, I emphasized to you the importance
of having a coach. Yes, you need a
coach but you also need a friend because your coach
is not your friend.

There are many things your friend will tolerate in
you, your coach will not tolerate in you. There are
people who want their coach to be their friend, no,
your coach is not supposed to be your friend. You
coach is out there to see you become your best. He is
not there to tolerate your weakness.

Who is a friend? A friend is someone who brings
out the best in you. He influences you to be better.
Friendships and relationships are destiny
facilitators. Your friend is your encourager; he or
she encourages you.

David and Jonathan were friends and the Bible
says, “And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to
David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in
God.” 1 Samuel 23:16. That is what a friend ought to
do for you. Your friend is out for your good.

A friend is not a parasite. Anyone who has never
added value to your life is not a friend: that is a
parasite. Do not allow parasites in your life this
year.

A friend is more than an acquaintance. Who is an
acquaintance? An acquaintance is someone you
know by reason of circumstance or situation. An
acquaintance can become a friend when they start
adding value to your life.

ask God to remove from your life people who
are sabotaging your progress.
