Don’t fall from grace.

“Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”  Galatians 5:4(KJV)

Our opening scripture lets us know that everyone who seeks to be justified or made righteous by the law, has fallen from grace and Christ has become of no effect to Him. The Bible in Basic English translation puts Galatians 5:4 this way, “You are cut off from Christ, you who would have righteousness by the law; you are turned away from grace.”  So, any one who seeks to be justified outside of Christ cannot enjoy the fullness of what Christ brought.

Do not seek to become righteous by keeping the Law, you become righteous by faith in Jesus Christ. If you seek to be justified by the Law, you have fallen from grace. In other words, you have fallen from favor with God.

In Acts 15:1, the Bible tells us of certain brothers who came from Judea teaching that, “… Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.” In Acts 15:2(BBE), the Bible says, “And after Paul and Barnabas had had no little argument and discussion with them, the brothers made a decision to send Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them to the Apostles and the rulers of the church at Jerusalem about this question.”

In Jerusalem, the Apostle Peter answered this question in Acts 15:10-11(GNB) saying, “So then, why do you now want to put God to the test by laying a load on the backs of the believers which neither our ancestors nor we ourselves were able to carry? No! We believe and are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are."

Therefore  live with this understanding of the Word in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Prayer
Dear Father I thank you for your kindness has given me life. I pledge my allegiance to live by faith and the principles of your Word. Thank you Father for I am strengthened each day by your grace bearing fruits of righteousness to the praise and glory of your Name. In Jesus Name. Amen.
