“For whom he did foreknow, he also did
predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be
the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29 (KJV)
The
word ‘foreknow’ in our opening scripture means ‘to know beforehand,’ ‘to foreordain,’ ‘to foresee.’ In other
words, the word is saying to us that God knew us before hand, fore ordained and
foresaw us, before we were born into this world. God foresaw you as a unique
vessel, and predestinated you.
The word ‘predestinate’ means ‘to determine before
hand,’ ‘to mark off.’ So, God is saying to you that He has marked you for your
destiny. This is why the Apostle Paul said, in Galatians 6:17 “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear
in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.”
His
marks are on you too. He has marked your path. This is why the bible says in
Ephesians 2:10 (AMP), “For we are God's [own] handiwork (His
workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do
those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking
paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living
the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” When you enter that path, you
will only experience a greater glory each day.
This
is why the bible says in Proverbs 4:18 (AMP), “But the path of the [uncompromisingly]
just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more
(brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in]
the perfect day [to be prepared].”
Do
you want to shine? Then follow the path that God has ordained for you to
follow. Find that path and start walking in it, until the perfect day. The
perfect day is that day when you stand before Jesus, shining in all his glory.
Get involved with His plan of salvation and start
leading others to Christ. As you do, you are helping God see his dream come
true. 1 Timothy 2:3-4 “ For this is
good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to
be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
God has found you, and through you, God wants to
reach the unsaved and get them saved. It gives him pleasure. Luke 15:7 says “I say unto
you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more
than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”
So, as you live out God’s purpose through your life
as a soul winner, remember that you are just like Jesus who said, in Luke 19:10, “For the Son
of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” This is your purpose
today. As you live out this purpose, remember that you shall shine as the stars
in the kingdom of God forever (Daniel 12:3).
PRAYER
Thank you Father, for
foreordaining me and determining beforehand that I should fulfill this destiny
that you have assigned for me. I thank you for as I walk in it, my path will
shine brightly more and more until the perfect day. In Jesus Name. Amen.
